Ive been told that schoolwork will present more of a challenge in the years ahead, and that the teachers will hold us to higher standards. This means Ill ha

    12、ve to put a lot of effort into my studies. Ill also need to be very careful about balancing my schoolwork and hobbies. This is all quite new and different from my life at junior high school, but Im sure Ill rise to all these challenges. In fact, Im looking forward to being more independent and respo

Finally, setting goals makes you more confident. When you achieve a goal, you see the result of your hard work and know how much progress

The tips below may help you. Set goals that can be achieved. Dont push yourself to achieve more than what is

    19、possible. In stead, you should set goals based on your abilities and skills. Break big goals down into small ones. When you do so, they will seem easier to reach. You will be proud of yourself when you realize each small goal. This will also give you the encouragement to achieve your long-term goal.

    20、 Write your goals on paper. It is a good idea to put your goals where you can see them. You can place the list on your bedside table. Or you can stick it on your bedroom wall. This will remind you of what you are working for and keep you focused. After you set a goal, it is important to stick to it

    21、and work hard towards it. You may find achieving goals difficult. But you should not give up. Instead, stay positive and confident. I stayed

    23、 with a lovely host family and went to school with their son, Daniel. We were both in year ten and we got on well. He is learning Chinese and will come to stay with me this year in China! The British school day begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. Students usually have to learn nine subjects at secon

    24、dary school. Every student in UK must study English, Maths and the Science subjects: Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Students can also choose to study other subjects, such as History, Art and Business. The classes are different from those in China. Each teacher has their own classroom and the studen

    25、ts move around for every lesson. In most of my classes , there were only about 20 students. In the beginning, however, it was still tough for me to remember everyones name ! I enjoyed most of the classes, but some of them were quite challenging. Technology classes were fun. I made a clock to take ho

    26、me. The teacher helped me put the parts together. I like it so much that I still use it as my alarm ! I found Maths quite easy and enjoyable because the material was less advanced in the UK than in China. However, learning in English was a great challenge for me. There were a lot of difficult Englis

    27、h words, especially in Geography and Biology. Class discussion is very important in the UK, but I could not make a great contribution because sometimes I wasnt able to express myself clearly in English. Although there was not as much homework as I was used to, it was still challenging. Fortunately,

    28、my teachers and classmates were always helpful and gave me lots of encouragement. My language skills improved over time. During the hour-long lunchtime, I ate in the school dining hall. There were lots of options including bread and butter, chicken pie and puddings, but I still missed my mums cookin

    29、g! After lunch, I often played on the schools huge sports field with Daniel and his friends. Sometimes we just relaxed under a tree or sat on the grass. After school, there were many clubs to join. The one that attracted me most was the Rugby Club. We played once a week, and it was great fun. Also,

    30、I enjoyed acting in the Theatre Club. I still have photos of myself acting in William Shakespeares A Midsummer Nights Dream. Joining clubs was a great way to meet British students and make friends with them. I am glad to have the opportunity to experience this different way of life. I met some great

    31、 people and learnt a lot about school life in the UK. Daniel and his family were fantastic hosts, and his friends were very nice as well.
