And they have mastered some words and expressions about this tense. They know how to describe the tense simply, but they still have difficulty in using this tense to spea

    3、k well by looking at the pictures in the oral English test. Besides, they show great interest in English. 三、三、 教学重难点教学重难点 1. New words:newspaper, use, soup, wash 2. New phrases:read a newspaper, make soup, wash the dishes, talk on the phone, listen to a CD 3. Sentence structures: -What are you doing

    4、? -Im watching TV. -What is he/she doing? -He/She is making soup. -What are they doing? -They are talking on the phone 四、四、 教学过程教学过程 Step 1 Lead in Aim:To present the present progressive tense. The teacher shows a short video on the PowerPoint. T: Before our class, lets enjoy a short video. But you

    5、have a task. Please find the verbs in the short video. Ss watch the short video. T: Can you find the verbs in the short video? What are the words? S: dancing, running, eating T: Good. What is the difference between these words (dance-dancing, eat-eating) ? S: Add ing. T: Yes. Very good. Today, we ar

    6、e going to learn the verbs -ing form. Step 2 Presentation Aim: To learn the new words and phrases. 1. Lets learn. read/reading a newspaper T:What is he doing? S: He is reading a newspaper. make/making soup T: What is he doing? S: He is making soup. use/using the computer T: What is she doing? S: She

    7、 is using the computer. wash/washing the dishes T: What is she doing? S:She is washing the dishes. listen/listening to a CD T: What is he doing? S: He is listening to a CD. clean/cleaning T: What is he doing? S: He is cleaning. talk/talking on the phone T: What is he doing? S: He is talking on the p

    8、hone. exercise/exercising T: What is she doing? S: She is exercising. Ss read in different ways to practice the sentence pattern. Then the teacher acts and the Ss retell the relative phrases. Step 3 Match work 1. Show a picture with an apartment to the Ss. T: There are many people in the Happy Apart

    9、ment. What are they doing? Please turn to page 31 and finish 1a together. 2. Ss match the activities with the pictures. 3. Check the answers with the Ss. Step 4 Make sentences The teacher presents some pictures on the scream and asks Ss to make sentences. (First, the teacher make s an example and th

    10、en asks students to answer.) T: What are you doing? Ss: I am using the computer/exercising/washing the dishes/reading a newspaper/talking on the phone. T: What is he/she doing? He/She is listening to a CD/watching TV/making soup. T: What are they doing? Ss: They are cleaning. Step 5 Pair-work Ask Ss

    11、 to ask and answer questions about what people are doing in 1a. Please use these sentences: What is he/she doing? He/She is .What are they doing? They are. Step 6 Listening 1. T: There is a Happy Apartment in 1a. What are Jenny, John, Dave and Mary doing? Now lets listen to the recording, write the

    12、numbers from 1a. 2. Ss listen to the recording and write down the number form 1a. 3. Check the answer like these: T: What is Jenny doing? S: She is watching TV. T: What is John doing? S: He is washing the dishes. T: What are Dave and Mary doing? S:They are listening to a CD. Listen again and circle

    13、the important sentences. Step 7 Guessing Game There are many phrases cards in a box. Each student takes out one card and act. One student as the “little teacher” asks the whole class “What is he/she doing?” or “What are they doing?”. The others answer. Finally, check the answer- the little teacher a

    14、sks the actor “What are you doing?” and then the actor acts and answers. Step 8 Find rules 1. T: Can you add -ing to the words? Please find the rules. 2. Ss add -ing to the words. 3. Find the rules:一般在动词原形后+ing;2. 以不发音 e 结尾的, 去 e, +ing. Step 9 Summary The teacher guides Ss to summarize the meaning a

    15、nd structure of the present progressive tense. Step 10 Group work 1. T: If you are the girl in the picture, please discuss what you and your family doing. One of the group member should write down the sentences. 2. Ss discuss in group. 3. The teacher asks two or three students to make a report. Its
