    1、 1 Part I. Teaching Material Analysis 1. Status & Function This period is from Unit 5 of Grade 7, Book. PEP English. First of all, Id like to talk about my understanding about this lesson, the main topic of this lesson is animals, students should tell the names of animals, use adjectives to describe

    2、 animals, and use “why do you like ? Because they are .” sentence structures to talk about their preferences. After learning this lesson, their abilities of listening、speaking 、reading and writing will be improved . 2. Analysis of Students. The students in Grade 7 have learned English for 7 years. T

    3、hey have learned many words about animals, most students families keep animals as pets, they are interested in animals. All these above will be helpful for learning this lesson. But how to use adjectives to describe animals correctly is a little difficult for them. And there are also many new words,

    4、 so I will use multi-media, songs ,pictures to arouse students interest to learn . Part. Teaching Aims. According to the requirement of “New English Course Standard”. I set the teaching aims. 2 1. Knowledge Aims: To know and master the new words: tiger / elephant / panda / koala / giraffe / cute / l

    5、azy / smart / beautiful / scary / pet To know and master the sentence structure: Why do you like ? Because they are . 2. Ability Aims: To use target languages to talk about animals and explain the reason why they like or dislike the animals. 3. Emotional Aims: After this lesson students will know an

    6、imals are our friends, they will love and protect animals .love the nature . Part. Teaching Key Points and Difficult Points. According to the Teaching Syllabus and students learning level, I set the teaching key points and difficult points. 1. Teaching Key Points: To know how to spell the new words,

    7、 and master the adjectives to describe the animals. 2. Teaching Difficult Points: To use the target languages to talk about animals, make dialogues. And talk about their preferences in daily life. 3 Part. Teaching Methods & Learning Methods In this lesson, I will choose Task-based Teaching Method. I

    8、 design pair work and group work to help students open their mouth and improve their oral English. I will also choose Situational Teaching Method, I will use songs to lead in, and I will use cartoons to ask students to do the group work. That can be good for improving their abilities of listening, s

    9、peaking and reading. During the class, I will always guide the students to use cooperation learning method and independent learning method to study English. PartV. Teaching Aids Multi-media computer, Tape recorder, Power Point and so on . PartI. Teaching Procedures. Step1. Lead in Play the song “The

    10、 Animal Fair”, then ask them some questions: Q1: What is the song about? Q2: What animals can you hear in the song? Q3: What other animals do you know? Tell me the names of animals as many as you can. 4 The purpose is to arouse the students interest of study and relax students. Step2. Presentation.

    11、1. Guessing Game. Use some sentences to give some information about animals to students, then ask students to guess what animals they are. eg: They are cute and lazy . They are black and fat. They are only from China. They eat bamboos. The purpose is to present target languages, and make the atmosph

    12、ere relaxing. 2. Listening. Show students some sentences about different animals. Then ask students to guess what animals they are. The purpose is to improve the ability of listening. Step3. Practice. 1. Pair work. Ask 2 students in a pair to ask and answer A: What animals do you like? B: I like pan

    13、das. 5 A: Why do you like pandas? B: Because they are kind of cute. A: Where are they from? B: They are from China. The purpose is to develop the ability of speaking. 2. Listening. Ask students to listen to 2b and then read the whole sentences. The purpose is to improve the abilities of listening an

    14、d reading. Step4. Consolidation. Group work. Give students some cartoons, and ask students to choose animals to talk about. Sun Wukong is a _ . He is from _. He is kind of _He likes _, he can _. I_ (like) him. The purpose is to develop the comprehensive ability of language application. Step5. Summar

    15、y & Homework. 1. Ask students to summarize what they have learned in this class according to the reminder by themselves. 2.
