Teaching Objectives: After this lesson, students will be able to (1). learn a series of words and phrases about rules at school; (2). learn to talk about school rules with modal verbs “can” “have to” “must”; (3) strengthen their pronunciation by reading aloud after the tape and doing re
2、port; (4). enhance their awareness of following the rules. II. Teaching importance and difficulties: This lesson mainly focuses on simple modal verbs, during which students activate their prior knowledge to talk about different rules at school. Students may have difficulty using “can” “have to” and
3、“must” in the correct way, since modals verbs are a new type of verbs for them, so during the lesson, the new words will be explained and practiced, and samples will be given. Besides, as new students in Junior One, students may still have trouble pronouncing the words natively, so they will be aske
4、d to read after the tape in class. III. Teaching Procedures (Ss=students, T=teacher) Part One: Lead-in Step 1.The T shows several beautiful pictures of the school to the Ss, in this way, I want to stimulate their love for the school. Then I will show some bad phenomenon at school and introduce the s
5、entence “We cant rule a country without rules!” to lead in the key phrase “school rules”. Step 2. Ss look at some pictures, and they will lead them to talk about behaviors of breaking the rules.
