9、在分词,过去分词和从句。通常来说状语就是为了说明一个动作/事情发生的时间,地点,目的,方式,原因等等。所以,通常就会出现我们所说的时间状语,地点状语,原因状语,条件状语从句等等。I fought with Peter fiercely this morning in the classroom because he called me an idiot.要点二要点二 现在分词作现在分词作状语状语1.现在分词作状语的功能 可以表示时间、原因、条件、让步、结果、方式或伴随等,相当于状语从句。(1)作时间状语,相当于一个when,while 引导的时间状语从句。有时现在分词前加when或while
10、以示强调。Walking in the park,she saw an old fiend.=When/While(she was)walking in the park,she saw an old fiend.要点二要点二 现在分词作现在分词作状语状语注意:1)当表示正在进行的动作时,可直接在分词前加when/while,此时也可以理解为状语从句的省略。2)为了强调现在分词的意义,可以在现在分词前加上各种连词。eg:加上when/while,强调与谓语动词同时发生;加上before/after,强调动作先后发生,加上thus,强调结果;加上although/though,强调让步Thoug
11、h knowing all this,they made me pay for the damage.(2)作原因状语,相当于一个as,since,because 引导的原因状语从句。Not knowing her address,I had better telephone her to come over.=Because I dont know her address,I had better telephone her to come over.(3)作条件状语,相当于一个if,unless 等引导的条件状语从句。Working hard,youll make great progre
12、ss.=If you work hard,youll make great progress.(4)作让步状语,相当于让步状语从句,有时现在分词前可带有连词although,even if,even though 等。Knowing all his,I still want to see it myself.=Although I know all his,I still want to see it myself.(5)作结果状语,表示必然的,意料之中的结果,通常放在句末。有时为了突出结果,现在分词前可加thus,相当于so 或so that 引导的结果状语从句。He was caught
13、in the heavy rain,thus making himself catch a cold.注意注意:不定式作结果状语时,常与only,never 连用,表示一种出乎意料的结果。I hurried to school,only to find it was Sunday.(6)作方式或伴随状语,谓语动词表示动作发生的方式、背景或情况。此时现在分词的动作和谓语动词的动作同时发生。现在分词或分词短语作伴随状语时可以转换成并列成分。Mary sat by the window of the classroom,reading a book.=Mary sat by the window o
