    2、 value first impression highly.Dont dismiss a person or an idea too early just because you immediately get a bad impression.You will miss many opportunities because of that.Although something seems bad at the first impression,it does not mean it is bad all the time.Try to give everything a fair chan

    3、ce.Dont try to please everybody.There is no way you can please everybody or get everybody to agree with you. 3 It is a huge waste of time.Have respect for authority.No matter how much you may dislike them,just remember that teachers and parents care about you and they are only doing their jobs. 4 Do

    4、nt argue with them and just obey them.Realize a high school is not the real world.The real world isnt a closed environment.5 What is rewarded in high school such as popularity and agreement is different from what is rewarded in the real world.If high school isnt working out for you,you may find your

    5、self better at handling the real world.A Do not be too quick to judge.B So just learn to say the word “No” a lot.C Listen to their advice and consider it carefully.D Many of these are based on regrets that I have.E Bad habits are hard to break and remain with you for a long time.F Dont spend any eff

    6、ort trying to please others who will never like you.G It is a free society where people accept responsibility for their actions.2 How to Be a Good Apartment NeighborWhen you live in an apartment,everything comes with responsibilities.An apartment lifestyle can be complicated when it comes to social

    7、behaviours or manners.1 This article offers a few helpful tips on maintaining(维持)a good relationship with your apartment neighbors,so that you can live in harmony.Be friendly towards others.You dont necessarily need to know them.2 Greetings bring friendly relationships and make it easier to communic

    8、ate with others in the future if anyone has questions or concerns.3 It may be normal to walk from the parking lot to your front door,but youll need to consider how loud a person is.Avoid stepping heavily on stairwells,especially when leaving before sunrise or coming back late at night.Keep the noise

    9、 at whisper level in hallways.Close doors behind you gently.Dont shut them loudly.Care the old.4 If you see them in the parking lot with groceries,ask them if they need help carrying them inside the building and hold doors open for them.Be considerate of the noise level inside the apartment.This is

    10、one of the most common complaints reported to managers.More attention to noise is needed if you live above another person.5 If a neighbor requests that you keep the noise level down,take it to heart.A Remember to make an apology.B But a simple hello goes a long way.C Be soft-spoken when entering and

    11、 exiting.D Soft footwear makes less noise than boots or high heels.E Always offer positive assistance to your elderly neighbors.F Good manners can certainly make apartment life much easier.G Loud laughter and conversations in public place are annoying.3.In order to achieve big things in your life,yo

    12、u must be willing to think big.1 When youve busy working toward bringing your goals to life,you also feel happier in your journey.Follow these steps to make your goals a reality.2 Where do you see yourself in a year,five years or ten?Do you see yourself with a family,children,a good job and a colleg

    13、e degree in ten years?Try to think as far ahead as you can.Pay attention to every detail,and let your dreams come to life in your mind,showing you what matters most to you.3 Write down everything you imagine.4 Write down the most important achievements that you want to center on and the details abou

    14、t each.What matters most to you?Once you have a list of goals in mind,work out a plan.How will you achieve these goals?Divide your goals into achievable steps.Start achieving goals today.Put your plans into action today.5 Move forward every day,even if you are only taking a small step at a time.When

    15、 you can picture what your desired life is like,you can better decide the goals you need to set and achieve.All it takes are small steps toward your desired future,and you can achieve the life you want.ACenter on what you want to achieve.B Close your eyes and imagine your future.C Take a small step

    17、Helping Others Benefits YouEveryone wants to lead a happy and fulfilling life,so its natural to want to put yourself and your health first! However,helping other people can also directly help you at the same time.Here are a few ways that helping others can benefit you:Attract more back to youWhen yo

    18、u give,youre more likely to receive.You dont necessarily need to keep the receiving in mind when you decide to give,but nature may just take its course.1 Maybe youll come across some good fortune.Bring you a good feelingIf you volunteer your time to help others,youre sharing your blessings with thos

    19、e less fortunate,which is a wonderful gift to give! Youll likely return home after volunteering with a smile on your face.2 . Heighten self-esteemWhen you help others,you may be helping yourself to a heightened self-esteem.A positive result for your good deeds enables you to feel pride in your accom

    20、plishments.3 .4 . After youve done something nice,you may also find that your confidence increases.The fact that your helpful acts have turned out so positive might lead you to the confidence you need in your own life.Be more positive about your own situationSometimes youll find that youre your own

ForgivenessForgiveness is a quality that is difficult to possess.When someone has deeply hurt you,it can be extremely difficult to let go of your hate.However,forgiveness is possible,and it can be surprisingly beneficial to your physical and mental health.People who forgive show

    24、 less sadness,anger and stress and more hopefulness,according to a recent research.1 Try the following steps:Calm yourself.2 You can take a couple of breaths and think of something that gives you pleasure:a beautiful scene in nature,or someone you love.Dont wait for an apology.Many times the person

    25、who has hurt you does not intend to apologize.They may have wanted to hurt you or they just dont see things the same way.3 Keep in mind that forgiveness does not necessarily mean becoming friends again with the person who has upset you.Take the control away from your offender(冒犯者)Rethinking about yo

    26、ur hurt gives power to the person who has caused you pain.Instead of focusing on your wounded feelings,learn to look for the love,beauty and kindness around you.4 If you understand your offender,you may realize that he or she was acting out of unawareness,fear,and even love.You may want to write a l

    27、etter to yourself from your offenders point of view.Dont forget to forgive yourself.5 But it can rob you of your self-confidence if you dont do it.A How should you start to forgive?B Why should you forgive?C Try to see things from your offenders angle.D. Recognize the benefits of forgiveness.E For s

    28、ome people,forgiving themselves is the biggest challenge.F If you wait for people to apologize,you could be waiting an awfully long time.G To make your anger die away,try a simple stress management technique.6. How to Make Friends with NeighborsMost people have neighbors where they live,whether it i

    29、s in a house,a townhouse,or an apartment.You want to be friends with your neighbors,not enemies.Here are some tips to make that happen.Get to know your neighbors.If you are the ones moving in and nobody has come to greet you,introduce yourself to your neighbors.1 If you see someone with a moving tru

    30、ck moving in,introduce yourself and offer to help.Take them a home-treat,such as cookies or bread,and welcome them to the neighborhood.2 Take a loaf of bread or a plate of cookies or brownies and wish them a Merry Christmas.You can make a little bag of candy to take to them and wish them a Happy Hal

    31、loween.Invite your neighbors to dinner or a barbecue.You can get to know them over a delicious meal.Dont ask them to bring anything. 3 You can also invite your neighbors over to your house if you are watching a football,baseball,or other sports you think they might be interested in.Be considerate to

    32、 your neighbors. 4 You dont want to be the annoying neighbors who have no consideration for others in the neighborhood.Keep your arguments within the walls of your house.Dont run outside yelling at one another,creating a huge scene.Nobody wants to know about your personal or family problems.Let your

    33、 children play together.Dont discourage your children from playing with your neighbors children because of religion,race,or other petty things.5 .A Help out with yard work.B Wish them Happy Holidays.C If they offer,be gracious and accept it.D Go up to your neighbors house and say hello.E If you see

    34、your neighbor working out in his or her yard,offer a helping hand.F Dont play super loud music in the early morning or after nine oclock at night.G They will probably grow up together,so avoid creating enemies and make friends instead.7.We often close ourselves off when unfortunate events happen in

    35、our lives.We try to forget the pain by pretending it doesnt exist,but although we can try all this we want,in the end,we cant hide from ourselves. 1 Here are some ways you can open your heart more fully.Breathe into painWhenever a painful situation arises,try to accept it instead of running away. 2

    36、By using our breath we soften our experiences.Embrace the uncomfortable3 We know how fear feels in our bodies:the tension in our necks,the tightness in our stomachs,etc.We can face these feelings of discomfort and let them show us where we need to go.Spend time aloneFor most of our lives were surrou

    37、nded by people:our friends,colleagues,peers,family members,loved ones,and strangers.How often do we really spend time alone? 4 You can truly open yourself and explore whatever youd like.The golden ticket here is not to let yourself become distracted;just see what its like to be alone.Get outside of

    38、yourselfThis may seem a little contradictory to the last tip.5 After youve explored the depths of yourself,you come away with a new understanding.Now,its time to share thatnot through telling others,but through being with others.A We all know what anxiety feels like.B However,in reality they work ha

    42、 your friends,they will appreciate it and will be reliable in return.Be a good listener.Many people think they have to appear very interesting.3 Listen carefully to what people say,remember important details about them,ask questions about their interests,and take the time to learn more about them.St

    43、ress your good qualities.Show others what makes you stand apart from the crowd.Talk about your interests and hobbies.Everyone has interesting stories to telldont be afraid to share yours.4 People love to be around someone who makes them laugh.Choose your friends wisely.As you make friends with more

    44、people,you may find that some are hard to get along with.Sometimes you may even realize that certain friendships are unhealthy.5 Cherish those friends who are a positive influence in your life,and do your best to be a positive influence in theirs.A Be a reliable friend.B Keep your promise to your fr
