Body language includes the most subtle (微妙的) movements that many people are not aware of,including winking (眨眼) and slight movement of the eyebrows and
11、other facial expressions. Body language is one of the easiest ways for you to tell whats really going on in a conversation with another person. The body language that you observe from other people will tell you whether or not those people are being straight up with you or whether there is more to th
12、e story thats not being said. Watch,look,observe. Sometimes you can tell more by a persons body language than the words they speak. 14、ion. The Three Gorges have showed the magic workings of nature with their beautiful mountains and waters. The peaks and rocks on the two sides are telling us the history of the region in the past billion years. Every year,many visitors around the world are attracted by the charming thousandyearlong

Sandwiched between the mountains,the Three Gorges run across Fengjie and Wushan Mountain in Sichuan Province and Badong, Zigui and Yichang in Hubei Province, extending 193 kilometers long to include Q
16、utang Gorge,Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge. Farmers plant these barriers around their fields,which help prevent the loss of soil and stop the wind from blowing soil away. They also keep the wind from damaging or destroying cr
19、ops. Besides,extra trees and plants can be cut down and used or sold for wood. Windbreaks can be highly valuable for protecting grain crops. For example,in parts of West Africa grain harvests were twenty percent higher in fields protected by windbreaks compared to fields without them. But here is so
20、mething interesting about windbreaks. They seem to work best when they allow some wind to pass through the barriers of trees or plants around a field. If not,then the movement of air close to the ground will lift the soil. Then the soil will be blown away. For this reason,a windbreak works best if i
21、t contains only 60 to 80 percent of the trees and plants that would be needed to make a solid line. An easy rule to remember is that windbreaks can protect areas up to 10 times the height of the tallest trees in the windbreak. There should be at least two lines in each windbreak. One line should be
22、large trees. The second line,right next to it,can be shorter trees or other plants with leaves. Locally grown trees and plants are considered the best choices for windbreaks.
