Depression can be detected by tracking the number of minutes you use the phone and your daily geographical locations, reports a small Northwestern Medicine study.The more time you spend u

Spending most of your time at home or in fewer locations was also linked to depression, as was having a less regular day-to-d

The smartphone data was more reliable in detecting depression than asking people how happy or sad they were each day. The data showi

When people are depressed, they dont have the motivation or energy to go out and do things.The research found people who spent the most time on their phones were surfing the web or playing games, rather than talking to

Dry David Mohr, one of the studys authors, explained, “its an avoidance behavior we see in depression.”They analyzed the GPS locations and phone usage for
23、 20 women and eight men with an average age of 29 over two weeks.The goal of the research is to passively detect depression and different levels of emotional states related to depression. The technology could be used to monitor people who are at risk of depression. The researchers say future researc
