The activity of this step is free talk. I will ask Ss to answer the following questions what do you know about English?

My purpose of this activity is to stimulate the Ss awareness of learning English. Since the main exercise of this part is speaking and listening, ss should be able

28、 to understand others and keep a relatively smooth communication. The pronunciation and intonation should be idiomatic. Correct Diction is another requirements of this exercise. 29、ile-reading is the main part and I adopt the top-down reading model. This step is divided into 2 parts: fast reading and careful reading. Before reading, I will ask the Ss to predict what will talk in the text according to the title. It can exert the Ss imagination.1) Fast readingBefore reading, ss

30、have to pick out the key words - road and modern of this passage. They will be asked to think how to understand these two key words and how the text is organized around these key words. Afterwards ss will read the text with these two questions. After finish reading, ss will be able to answer the mea

31、ning of road. road= way or development or processAdditionally, getting the main idea of each paragraph is required as well since it has a close relationship with discourse analysis. Usually, the main idea of each paragraph is the first sentence or the last sentence, but this text is not. 2) Careful

32、readingAfter getting the general idea of each Para., I will deal with the details Para. by Para.In part one, I will ask the Ss to read quickly and do the exercises T or F. And if it is F, I will ask them to correct it. This exercise can help the Ss get the key information of the first paragraph in a
