Its main theme is how to introduce people, which is a quite useful topic. Since ss have already learned some words about describing peo
2、ple, this class contains more vocabulary relating to description. English classes in grade 5 get much closer with ss real life, therefore, the topic of this grade became more practical. Ss will be really benefited from those practical topic, because after learning such kind of topics, they could use
3、 vocabulary, phrases and sentences learned before to express themselves, which fully embodies the instrumental feature of English. The new curriculum standard requirements of elementary school English study mainly focus on the practicality and applicability. Ss should be able to exchange personal in
4、formation in English, and can make short statement of daily topics. By considering of this, ss in grade 5 will move into another higher language level. The topic are more practical compared with the previous ones, for example, introduction of people-topic of this lesson. Ss can use sentences, like H
5、es tall and strong. Hes very funny, to introduce others. Given the analysis of teaching material and students, the teaching objectives are as follow.a) Knowledge objectivesIn consideration of the statement of new curriculum standard, the main object of English study is to develop perception of Engli
6、sh and form good study habits. The knowledge aim will put more efforts on the study of knowledge. Ss hae to totally grasp the five adjectives: old, short, thin, tall and strong, know the new words young, kind, funny; mater the sentence patterns: Whos your.? Whats he/she like? and apply them flexibly
7、 into different situations. b) Ability objectivesSs are able to simply describe their teachers appearance or characters, e.g. We have a new English teacher. Hes tall and strong. Hes very funny; understand simple dialogues talking about persons lookings. That is to say, the development of language st
8、udy for beginner level lays stress on speaking and listening mostly.c) Moral objectives Students in grade 5 is in the early stage of psychological development. Moreover, most of ss are the only one child in their families, which means they are lack of emotional communication to a certain degree. “My
9、 new teacher” will help to cultivate ss awareness of loving their teachers and develop positive system of values and attitudes.On account of the above analysis, the important points are new words in Lets learn part:old, short, thin, tall, strong, young, funny, kind, among which old, short, thin, tal

Assessments of performanceIn the class, I will make assessment of sss performance in time. The teachers evaluation should be primarily formative app
