    1、教案English Around the World Unit2 Book1 NSEFC1. Teaching topic: English Around the World 2. Period: first period 3. Teaching aims:1) Knowledge object: By the end of the lesson, Ss will have a better understanding of the meaning and structure of the text. Given the statement of new curriculum standard

    2、, compared with compulsory education period, the main object of English study has changed into the development of comprehensive ability. Whats more, the discourse comprehension is one of the most important component of comprehensive English ability. Students of grade 1 in senior high school have stu

    3、died English for 6 years and grasped a certain amount of English knowledge. In spite of this, the other knowledge objective is still to grasping useful words and expressions such as elevator, petrol, gas, lorry, because of., come up., etc. 2) Ability object: Actually students should be encouraged to

    4、 do speed reading in the first period of reading lesson. But the students in my class are lack of independent reading ability. In this class, I will encourage and help them to read, think and find out information by themselves most time. Since the main objective of reading course is to improve the S

    5、s reading ability, Ill train their ability of identifying the general idea in the fast reading. And in intensive reading their ability of information-gathering and summarizing is developed. And the whole class is for Ss to develop their reading skills as scanning, skimming, information-gathering, su

    6、mmarizing and guessing the new words from the text. 3)Emotion and attitude object: The text is introducing English from many aspects. So before learning the text, we will have a short discussion about the importance of English. I want the Ss to have the awareness of the importance of learning Englis

    7、h and help them to cultivate the motherland consciousness and intercultural awareness. Most importantly, their attention to the outside world and social issues has been enhanced in their early studies. And all of these are beneficial to todays teaching.4.Teaching key points: how to make Ss grasp the

    8、 new words and phrases and how to improve their reading skills as scanning, skimming, information-gathering and summarizing 5. Teaching difficult points: the difficult points, they are the same as the important ones.6. Teaching Methods: task-based language teaching and communicative approach 7. Teac

    9、hing aids: computer and blackboard 8. Teaching procedureStep I: Lead-in and pre-readingThe activity of this step is free talk. I will ask Ss to answer the following questions what do you know about English? And How many countries around the world whose official language is English? Here, Ss will get

    10、 familiar with the basic knowledge of English. My purpose of this activity is to stimulate the Ss awareness of learning English. Step II: While-reading While-reading is the main part and I adopt the top-down reading model. This step is divided into 2 parts: fast reading and careful reading. Before r

    11、eading, I will ask the Ss to predict what will talk in the text according to the title. It can exert the Ss imagination.1) Fast readingBefore reading, ss have to pick out the key words - road and modern of this passage. They will be asked to think how to understand these two key words and how the te

    12、xt is organized around these key words. Afterwards ss will read the text with these two questions. After finish reading, ss will be able to answer the meaning of road. road= way or development or processAdditionally, getting the main idea of each paragraph is required as well since it has a close re

    13、lationship with discourse analysis. Usually, the main idea of each paragraph is the first sentence or the last sentence, but this text is not. 2) Careful readingPara.In part one, I will ask the Ss to read quickly and do the exercises T or F. And if it is F, I will ask them to correct it. This exerci

    14、se can help the Ss get the key information of the first paragraph in a short time and can deepen the Ss understanding of the first paragraph.The exercises are as follow.1.Most of the English speakers in the 16th century lived in England.2.More and more people use English as their first or 2nd langua

    15、ge.3.The US has the largest number of English speakers.4.Native English speakers can understand everything because they speak the same kind of English.In part two, I will ask Ss the retell the development of English. This can help the Ss develop their ability of summarizing. If the Ss fell difficult

    16、 in this part, I will encourage them to find the key sentences and try to join them together with the help of chart presented on ppt. Ss will have five minutes to discuss some questions, for example, why is it becoming more and more important to have a good knowledge of English? In which countries do we fine most native speakers of English? Ss will have

    20、opportunities to express their opinions in this activity and it is also a good chance for them to develop the ability of communication, thinking and cooperation. Step :HomeworkFinally it comes to the homework. Ss are required to review the learnt lesson and underline the useful words and phrases in the text.
