In the end, a young girl moved away the stone and received both gold coins and praise from the king. The plot of the fable is simple but perfect

    6、les? Whats the value of these fables?Collect answers from the class. Then motivate students to read the fable on page 20. Step 2 Reading for gist and the basic meaning .Ask students to read the fable and answer the questions in Activity 1Invite three students to report their answers to the class and

    7、 let the rest of the class make corrections if any and check their own answers. .Lead students to learn the new words through paraphrasing. Step 3 Reading for details and a deeper understanding .Ask students to read the fable again more carefully and finish Activity 2 on page 21. Tip: To fill in the

    8、 blanks in the emotion column, students should pay attention to some details and draw conclusions.Work in pairs to solve the problems they have. Correct each others mistakes. Then ask three students to report their answers. Step3 Discussing the moral value.Pair the students to discuss the questions

    9、in Activity3. .Ask 3-5 pairs to share their opinions and experiences with the class. Step 4Drafting a review of the fable .Ask students to read the learning tip on. page 21 and get to know more about reviews. .Divide the class into groups of 4-6. Let them discuss the questions in Activity 4 and note

    10、 down their answers with key words .Ask students to brainstorm more useful expressions.Ask students to write their first draft with the help of the writing outline. Advise them to read the checklist in Activity 5 to help with their own writing.Walk around the classroom and be ready to offer helpStep

    11、 6 Peer editing.Ask students to exchange their drafts and use the checklist in Activity on page 21 to give feedback on each others draft. Give instructions on using linking words properly to make their writingmore organized and coherent. .Walk among the class and monitor this process. Provide help w
