He earned a doctorate in physics in 1905 and gradually became famous as the new Isaac Newton. Circumstances changed in 1933, when Hitler came to power in Germany. Einstein, who was Jewi

He finally took up a position as a researcher at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, USA. Einstein was not only a genius, but also a very gentle man. He had a thick moustache and long whi

Now lets write a draft to sum up Einsteins life.UNIT2I have a preference for traditional things, but reality has persuaded me to use these words and phrases to describe my daily routine in the fut

If I forget to switch off my electrical appliances like my air conditioners and Im in a distant place, my integrated sensors in my smart home system will do it for me instead of remote controls or automatic knobs. These sensors are very efficient and send instant commands. The home system will

In addition, my smart home can warn me early on whether there is something abnormal or whether I have a critical illness, like cancer, and potentially save my life. After the visit,my teacher asked me to describe the park with adjectives and then to label these adjectives and put them in the left column.UNIT 4In our interactions with

25、 other people, the way we express ourselves needs to vary with the situation. Body language is important and reliable. By contrast, it is sometimes more appropriate than spoken language. A smile is always approved of in all cultures because it demonstrates politeness and can break down barriers. A f

Of course, we can make inferences about the truth of the smile.Body language differs around the world. Different cultures may employ different gestures to express the identical fe

The differences between these actions could reveal their real thoughts. Each one reacted to my questions and varied slightly in tone,

Finally, I would invite experts to identify what I had assessed. As an educator, I should learn to interpret my students body language and know what makes each student tick. In other words, I ought to understand what my students think through their gestures

30、. I would also like to take this opportunity to clarify some of my own views. If a student has his head lowered to look at his watch,it implies he is bored. If their eyes can barely move, staring out of the window or at the ceiling, with their chins on their hands, it reveals these students are dist

Girls have a tendency to weep if they have feelings like anger or anxiety, or when they feel ashamed or embarrassed. This can be judged from the tone in which they react to my ques

Ultimately, I call on my students to occupy themselves with their study, adjust their learning state and not to be bothered by the outside world. At work, if there is a conflict between their behaviour and learning, I will intervene in tim

There was a time when China had a serious shortage of food. To tackle this crisis, alleviate hunger and get rid of poverty, Yuan was convinced that farmer

34、s could boost the yield of rice in the same field. One characteristic of hybrids showed that they could attain a higher yield than conventional crops. Through intense effort, Yuan overcame enormous difficulties to develop the first hybrid rice that enabled farmers to expand its output greatly. It is

35、 estimated that about 60 percent of domestic rice consumption in China is comprised of crops generated from Yuans hybrid strains. Deep down, Yuan was still very much a farmer. As a man of the soil, he cared little for celebrity or money. Despite his wealth, Yuan Longping didnt live a leisure life. H

36、is assumption was that he envisioned rice plants as tall as sorghum, with each ear of rice as big as a broom, and each grain of rice as huge as a peanut. His vision for rice growing in salty land also became a reality. Rice and wheat are the main food of Chinese people, and have almost the same nutri

37、tional value. Farmers prefer chemical fertilisers to organic fertilisers for an extension of rice output. But crops grown with chemical fertilisers lack nutrition, essential minerals and nice flavour. In this aspect, urban residents dont like them. Some people jokingly say that fertilisers and pesti

38、cides are like bombs in tunnels.Today pesticides have been in widespread use in farming industries. They can kill harmful bacteria and insects, but damage the nutritious crops as well. This, in turn, affects the animals and humans who digest them. Now some pesticides have been prohibited in most cou

39、ntries. As an alternative, some farmers have switched to organic farming, because organic vegetables and grain are welcomed in urban groceries. The farmers also change crops. For instance, they grow corn or wheat in a field one year, and then grow beans there the next. These crops have entirely different roots and use different depths of soil. Crops grown with organic fertilisers have enough nutrition and essential minerals. The purpose of expanding production is to alleviate hunger and get rid of poverty. In this aspect,China has set an example for the world.学科网(北京)股份有限公司
