Up to now, most of the research has been about studying the effects

Korners study is the first to examine children. “Children from the age of five are able to recognize and understand the body postures of others,” the professor adds.The researchers carried out their experiment with 108 fourth graders. One group was to assume (装出) two open postures for one
22、 minute each. The other group posed with their arms folded in front of them and their heads down. The children then finished a series of psychological tests. The children who had assumed an open posture showed better moods and reported higher self-confidence than the children in the other group. The
23、 effects were particularly manifest when it came to questions concerning school. “Here, powerful body postures had the strongest effect on the childrens self-confidence,” says Korner.“Teachers could try and see whether this method helps their students.” However, Korner states that expectations about
