When its opened, the objects or images that have been placed inside provide a picture of what life was like at the time it was cr

    6、eated. It can be surprising to see what clothes people were wearing or what technology they were using at that time. Almost anything can be placed in a time capsule. The only restriction is your imagination. One thing often found when a capsule is opened is a “letter to the future”, which is intende

    7、d for whoever opens it. The letter might describe what life was like when it was written and may also contain the hopes and wishes the writer had for future generations. Many different people and organizations have produced or contributed to time capsules. Among them is Steve Jobs. Tapescript Prof.

    8、Chen: In 1983, he donated the mouse from his own Lisa computer, which was named after his daughter, to be put in a 13-foot-long time capsule. The time capsule was intended to be opened in 2000 but no one could remember where it was buried! When the capsule was finally discovered and dug up in 2013,

    9、it was amazing to see how times had changed. Another fascinating time capsule was launched to the International Space Station in October 2008. It contains a list of humanitys most important achievements as well as personal messages from the Earth. It also has copies of the DNA of a few famous people

    10、, including that of Stephen Hawking, to keep it safe in case the Earth suffers a terrible disaster. Not only can creating time capsules be entertaining, they can also provide future generations with valuable information about life at the time they were created. Sample Writing this letter in 2021, I cannot imagine a world without plastic. Im shocked at a video of a sea turtle with its nose stuck by a plastic bag. Plastic accumulating in

    25、our oceans and on our beaches has become a global crisis. Billions of pounds of plastic can be found on about 40 percent of the worlds ocean surfaces. Im afraid that at current rates plastic is expected to outweigh all the fish in the sea by 2050. I wish humans could find alternatives to plastics. W

    26、illiam Shakespeare said, “The web of our life is of a mingled yarn, good and ill together.” And it is true of science and technology, a double-edged sword. But in my opinion, external rules are not enough to change peoples hearts, minds, and actions, because genuine motivation comes from within.
