The Quidditch scenes in the Harry Potter films were made in this waywith the actors jumping up and down in front of a green screen. However,the aid of computers isnt always preferred. Peter Jackson, director of The Lord of the Rings films, took a creative approachhe used clever camera angles to make characters seem bigger or smaller than they really were.Props also contribute to a films success. To makea film look real, great effort must sometimes be made to research, find and build objects. Director James Cameron spent six months looking at and revising plans of the Titanic in order to build a full-sized model for his 1997 film. To ensure that the detailswere correct, he talked to historians and even went down to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean to see what was left of the ship for himself.
