The order of the zodiac (生肖生肖) Following the ox was the tiger. When it finished the race, it explained(解释) to the Jade Emperor how difficult it was to cross the river. Because of its strong, he was behind the ox, so tiger was the third animal in the cycle. Suddenly the rabbit arrived with some sound. It explained how it crossed the river: by jumping from one stone to another. On the half way, it almost lost the race, but the rabbit was lucky enough to catch a wood. So it became the 4th animal in the cycle. Coming in 5th place was the Flying Dragon(龙). The Jade Emperor wanted to know why a flying animal such as the dragon didnt get the first place. The dragon explained that he had to stop and make rain to help all the people of the earth. The Jade Emperor was happy with the dragon, and called the dragon the fifth. As soon as he had done so, the horse came. Hidden on the horses foot was the snake. The horse was surprised when it saw the ugly snake, and the horse fell back(后退).So the snake was the 6th, and the horse placed 7th. Not long after that, the sheep, monkey, and rooster came. These three animals helped each other to get to where they are. Because of their combined efforts(团结合作), the Emperor was very happy and named the sheep as the 8th , the monkey as the 9th, and the rooster as the 10th. The 11th animal was the dog. He was the best swimmer, but he played a long time in the river. The story of twelve animals Jade Emperor, race across the river, having an argument
