Section B (1a-1e) Analysis of the Teaching Material This lesson is the third period of Unit 13( Grade 9 ). Students will learn to talk about pollution and environmental protection. Environmental protection is a hot issue, it is closely related to students daily lives. They are interested in this topic. From learning, it can be helpful to raise their learning interest of English. It can help the students to improve their speaking and listening abilities. Analysis of the Students I think they have studied English over six years since primary school. They have had certain skills of listening and speaking. So I think its easier for the students to learn this period because they have basically had the basis of knowledge. Step 3 Listening practice 1c&1d 1.Have students listen and check the things that Julia and Jack talk about. 2.Play the recording and check the answers. 3.Play the tape again and get students to fill in the blanks in 1d.Check the answers by listening again if necessary. Listen to the tape carefully. Finish 1c. Read the sentences in 1c.Listen and fill in the blanks in 1d. Practice their listening skills and finish the tasks 1c and 1d. Step 4. Pairwork 1e Invite a pair of students to read the sample conversation, help them to make a similar one Invite some pairs to share their conversations with the whole class and say what is true for you. Read the sample conversation and make a similar one with a partner, share the conversation with the whole class. Improve their oral English Ste 5. Make a Survey Survey the students in our class. Then take a class vote.Make a Survey. Cultivate students ability to solve problems with English knowledge. Step 6.
