The changes of their tails is a kind of body language. Different body parts has different functions, we should cherish our body ,try to make full use of their functions. Ss: Its a monkeys tail Whose tail is it? Ss: Its a rabbits tail. Its a short tail. Whose tail is it? Ss: Its a squirrels tail.Its very big and bushy. T: Well done. Today we will learn a story about squirrels tail, Lets watch a video and observe its tail,OK? Ss: OK! Step II:Skimming Have a quick look about the story, try to read it ,and try to find what it is talking about. T: Whats the squirrels tail like? Ss: Its bushy. T: What happened?Lets find out! Step III: Scanning Show the pictures of each parts. Let the students guess what they are going to say in the situation and ask some students to act the situation. Then write down the key clue on the blackboard. Ask some questions about the pictures: Picture 1: Where do they live? Ss: They lives in the forest. Picture 2: What are Zacs hobbies? Ss: He likes singing and dancing. Whats the monkey kings hobby? Ss: he likes reading books. Picture 3:Zac likes./The monkey king doesnt like. Picture 4:What happened? Ss: Zac sang, the monkey was angry, he threw Zac out of the tree Picture 5: Whats the difference? Ss: Zacs tail become bushy. Let the student review the story try to fill the blanks. Step IV: Summary and act Show the whole story, let the student try to retell the story according the key clues. Ask some students to act the story. Step V:Extension Picture 6: Is it a true story? No, it isnt. Lets watch a video about the functions of squirrels tail. Explain the functions. Emotional education: Different body parts has different functions, we should cherish our body ,try to make full use of their functions. Step VI: Homework 1.Read the story . 2.Act the story in a group. 3.Do a research about the functions of animals body parts .
