Besides, the story is based on the words say, way, May, play, today, playground. ) Step 2: Presentation 1. Present the story, and let the students find out the same letters in the story. And lead in the letters we learn today. 2. Watch and learn the pronunciation of the letters ay. (Purpose: In order to develop the students thinking ability, I let the students find out the letters and learn by the video. ) Step 3: Practice 1 1. Let the students try to read the words after watching the video 1 by themselves. 2. Watch the video 2 and make sure the pronunciation of each words. (Purpose: In order to develop the students thinking ability, I let the students read the words before learning. Besides, it can leave a deep impression of the sound by learning themselves.) Step 4: Exercise 1. Exercise 1: Can you read? Let the students read the words one by one. 2. Exercise 2: Can you say any other words? Let the students discuss in group of four. And say some words we learnt before with the letter ay. 3. Exercise 3: Catch the words. Let the students read the words as quickly as they can. 4. Exercise 4: Write down the words. Let the students write down the words that I say. (Purpose: Students like playing games. So I let them practice the words by playing different games. Besides, I let the students think about the words with the letter ay. Its good to develop their thinking ability and flexibility in learning English. ) Step 5: Expansion 1. Read the sentences. 2. Let the students circle words with the sound /ei/ in each sentence. 3.Make a conclusion of the sound /ei/. The letters ay, ai and a-e all pronounce /ei/. 4. Games: (1) Find out the words with the sound /ei/.(ay) (2) Find out the words with the sound /ei/.(ay, ai, a-e) (3) Match the words with the letters. (ay, ai, a-e) (Purpose: In order to develop the students thinking ability, we should learn the other letters with the same sound. Besides, the students can be quick in thought when theyre learning. Whats more, it can demonstrate the students critical ability.) Step 6: Song 1.Fill in the blank according to the tape. 2. Catch and read the sentences as quickly as you can. 3.Listen and sing the song Rain, rain, go away (Purpose: In order to enliven the atmosphere, I let the students sing the song . ) Step 7 Conclusion 1.Show some pictures, and see the opposite side of sadness. 2.
