4、to know each other. 2. Listen and chant: Whens your birthday? 3. Ask the students good ideas about the present for my mothers birthday Step While-reading 1. Students listen to the tape and answer simple questions about the text, get the know the main idea of the text; 2. Students listen to the tape

5、again, scan and finish the exercise on Page33; 3. Students read out aloud after the tape; 4. Students try to read the passage together, during the time, find out their difficult points in reading and consolidate them. Step Post-reading 1. Show the “Thank You” note written by Tony and Jennys mother,

6、expressing her appreciation; 2. Get to know the format of writing a note, including date, salutation, body, closing and signature. 3. Introduce new friends Donna and Milly, set up a situation and ask students to finish the exercise on Page33. 4. Task: ask students to write a “Thank You” note to thei

7、r classmates who often help them in school. Step Extension 1. Introduce a proverb: we never know the love of our parents until we become parents ourselves. 2.
