1 Module6 Unit1 I went there last year. Teaching aims: Aims on the knowledge: (1) Students will be able to understand and speak: “I went there last year. Did you go with your parents? Yes, I did. No, I didnt. ” And the words west, parent, remember, south , July ,June. Make sure that Ss use these words and sentences in real situations. Aims on the abilities: (1) To improve students listening and speaking ability by reading and practicing the dialogue. (2) To train the students ability of working in groups. Students will be able to act the dialogue out. (3) To foster students abilities of communication and their innovation. Students will be able to share and write down their travel experiences. The emotional aims: (1) To foster students consciousness of good cooperation and proper competition. (2)To help students cultivate their abilities to analyze and solve problems independently. (3) Broaden the students horizons, learn about the geography of China, love our country. Teaching key points : 2 1. Students will be able to read and use the sentences:“I went there last year. Did you go with your parents? Yes, I did. No, I didnt.” and the words west, parent, remember, south , July ,June. 2. With the help of the teacher , students will be able to obtain information, process information and output information in the real context. Teaching difficult points: Students will be able to use the key sentences to talk about themselves travel experiences. Teaching methods and aids: ppt , photos and postcards . Teaching procedure: Step 1 warming up Greeting. Say hello to the children, introduce myself Purpose: It is important to form a better English learning surrounding for the Students by talking at the same time it can provide situations for the next step. Step 2 Lead in Ask ss some questions about their travel. Purpose: This topic is related to our daily life, they would like to join and talk. Step 3. Presentation 3 1. Show my photos album . Let the students guess where I went to and Study the key words and sentences. 2. Listen to the dialogue and answer the two questions. Understand the general idea of the text. 3. Listen to the dialogue and tick or cross. Know the details of the dialogue. Purpose: Present the new words and sentences in the situation, which relates to the students real life experiences, to help the students understand the language easily and naturally. Step 4. Practice 1. Read the dialogue. Ask them to pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation. 2. Work in groups and practice the dialogue and act it out. Purpose: Practice dialogue of this unit carefully so that the students can understand the text better and prepare for the output later. Step5 Consolidation 1.Interview other students or share their own travel in the group 2.Make a travel card. write down their travel on the card. Purpose: Task-based teaching method and Communicative language teaching are used here. The activity is to develop 4 Ss ability of communication, and also, their ability of cooperation will be well developed. Step6 Conclusion 1. Assessment . 2. Homework. Act the dialogue out and make a traveling poster. 3. Chant. My teaching reflecting: In this lesson, I lead the students understand the dialogue and act the dialogue out step by step. In the whole period I just act as a director, giving the students some detailed task and letting the students explore the knowledge by themselves or in team work.
