Module 10 Places Unit 1 Its next to the park. The First Period Teaching aims: 1) Ps will be able to name the places. 2) Ps will be able to ask the way. 3) Ps will be able to use what they learn to express and communicate. 4) Ps will be able to know how to use polite language. 5) Ps will be able to know more about the navigation signs. Difficult points: Name the places. Teaching aids: CAI, tape, cards and pictures. Teaching procedures: Step 1 Warming up. 1) Greetings. 2) Play TPR game: Turn left. / Turn right. / Go straight on. 3) Chant( P 54): Left foot, right foot. Step 2 Presentation (1) 1) Show a picture by CAI and guess where is Sam going? 2) Show the photos of place and learn the new words. e.g. A: Where is it? B: Its a supermarket. 3) Put the logos of place on the map and understand the positions. e.g. The supermarket is next to the cinema 4) Play a game: Stick the logos onto the right places. 5) Sing a song: Going, going, where are you going? Step 3 Presentation (2) 1) Listen, point and find “next to, in front of”. 2) Read after the disc and try to understand the dialogue. 3) Get to understand the difficult in the dialogue by doing the actions. 4) Pair work: Act out the play Step 4 Practice 1) Enjoy the flash and answer the following questions. 2) Act out the dialogue. Step 5 Homework: Listen to the tape and repeat it for three times. Blackboard design: Module 10 Places Unit 2 Hes helping a child. The Second Period Teaching aims: 1) Ps will be able to make a dialogue in the situation. 2) Ps will be able to ask the way. 3) Ps will be able to learn English by pair work. 4) Ps will be able to further apperceive the cultural differences in giving directions. 5) Encourage the pupils to introduce their hometowns to further increase their patriotism consciousness. Difficult points: Asking the way Teaching aids: CAI, tape, cards and pictures. Step 4 Practice 1) Listen and follow to the disc. 2) Play a game: Find out the thief. 3) Chant: Were going up. Step 5 Homework: Look at the map and make dialogues with your partner(58) Blackboard design: Module 10 Places Revision of U1 U2 The Third Period Teaching aims: 1) Ps will be able to finish the listening exercises. 2) Ps will be able to introduce the city according to the map. 3) Ps will be able to grasp the patterns by playing games. 4) Ps will be able to communicate in English. 5) Encourage the pupils to introduce their hometowns to further increase their patriotism consciousness. Difficult points: Introduce the city. Teaching aids: CAI, tape, cards and pictures. Teaching procedures: Step 1 Revision 1) Listen and do the actions together. 2) Look at the sign and say out. 3) Sing a song: Going, going, where are you going? Step 2 Presentation 1) Listen and enjoy the flash. 2) Do the actions by playing the disc. 3) Listen, follow and act. 4) Chant together. Step 3 Practice 1) Listen and follow the routes. e.g. A: Go straight on. Turn left. Where are you? B: I am in the park. A: Great. 2) Practice in pairs(60) 3) Listen and do: One pupil covered his eyes, other pupils give instruction. Step 4 Introduce the city: Look at the map and introduce the city in groups.
