Teaching difficult points Understanding and usage of “So many” and “Lets count.” Teaching procedure Step 1 Warm up 1. Greeting and singing a song “I can sing a rainbow” together. 2. Listen and guess “What is it?” Then drill on key word: fish. Step 2 Presentation 1. Watch a video. Ask “How many fish?” Listen, point and say. Read in characters. Girls are pink cat, boys are purple cat. 2. Show three pictures to drill on key pattern “How many?” Page one: ask “How many fish?” And “What color are they?” Page two: ask “How many green fish?” And invite students count numbers with teacher. Page three: encourage students ask teacher “How many yellow fish?” 3. Guess “What is it?” Then drill on key word: tree. Introduce reward mechanism. Drill on key pattern “Look at the tree.” 4. Watch a video. Ask one questions. How many birds? Play videos again. Drill on key pattern “So many birds.” Back to text. Drill on key pattern “Lets count.” Invite students come front to count and ask “How many?” Listen again and circle How many? Listen, point and say. Cooperate with desk mate, read in characters. Volunteers come front to make a presentation. Step 4 Presentation 1. Point to rewarding mechanism which are on the blackboard. Invite a boy come front. Ask how many birds? How many red birds? What do you like? Invite another girl. Do it again. Invite a pair to present by themselves. Step 5 Production 1. Show a picture of park. Describe the objects what teacher can see. Then inquire “What can you see?” Encourage students ask teacher “How many?” Talk with desk mates. Invite a pair, one ask another answer show their dialogue. 2. Show a beautiful picture. Inspire students building a shallow sense of protecting environment. Step 6 Homework 1. Listen, point and say P17. 2. How many books in your schoolbag? What color are they? Count with your mother.
