The emperors new clothes Snow White The fox and the grapes Watch and say The emperors new clothes Look and say Hans Christian Andersen Do you remember the stories “The emperors new clothes” and “The ugly duckling”? Andersen wrote the stories. He was a Danish writer. He wrote a lot of interesting fairy tales and stories. Children around the world enjoy reading his stories. His first book of fairy tales was published in 1835. In his lifetime, he wrote more than one hundred and fifty fairy tales, and his stories have been translated into over 100 languages. MoreMore aboutabout AndersenAndersen The stories “Snow White”, “Little Red Riding Hood” and “Cinderella” are from Grimms Fairy Tales. The Grimm brothers were German writers. They collected a lot of stories. Both adults and children like their stories. The Grimm brothers The Grimm brothers were story collectors. They gathered and wrote many stories. The stories “Snow White”, “The Frog Prince” and “Sleeping Beauty” are from Grimms Fairy Tales. Grimms Fairy Tales Read and learn Aesops Fables Fables are short stories with moral lessons. Many fables use animals that act and talk just like people as characters. Fables Aesops Fables is another great book. Most stories in this book are about animals. The animals in the stories can talk. Some well-known stories are “The fox and the grapes”, “The farmer and the snake” and “The wind and the sun”. We can usually learn something from these stories. Do you know these stories? The first printed version of Aesops Fables in English was published on 26th March, 1484, by William Caxton. Think and say Think and say Who wrote these stories? Watch the screen and learn to say the useful sentences. 3. Ask pupils to practise in groups. Step . Learn the story (文本学习) 1. Lets talk about the pictures on the book. 2. Watch the cartoon and answer the questions. a. Where did he come from? b. What books did he write? c. Whats the book about? d. Why is the book so famous? 3. Students follow the recording to repeat the sentences. 4. The pupils read the text carefully. And then try to do some exercises. Step .Consolidation(拓展延伸) Ask the students to introduce their favorite books and say the reasons. T: Which books do you like? Ss show and talk in groups. Step. Homework 1.
