It+be+名词+to do sth. It+及物动词+宾语+ to do sth. It+be+介词短语+to do sth. Eg. It is hard to translate this sentence into English. It was foolish of him to give up the job. Eg. It is everyones duty to obey the law. Eg. It takes sb.some time to do sth. It cost me 150 yuan to buy the dress. Eg. It was against my principle to do that. 二、 it代替动词-ing短语 动词-ing形式作主语用后置形式的情况 远不及不定式那么普遍,常限于no good, no use, useless, waste等词的后面。 Eg. It is no good/use having a car if you cant drive. Eg. It is a waste of time watching TV. 三、it代替主语语从句 这个主语从句可以用连词 that引导,也可 以用连接代词或连接副词引导。 Eg. It was clear that they had no desire for peace. Eg. It is doubtful whether she will be able to come. 三、it代替主语语从句: 四种类类型 1. it + be + 形容词 (clear, possible, likely)+ 从句 Eg. It is certain that he will win. Eg. It is important that we should learn from each other and help each other. 2. it + be + 名词(a pity, a shame, an honour, a good idea, common knowledge, a surprise.) + 从句 Eg. It is a pity that I cant go with you because I have to look after my little brother. Eg. It is common knowledge that the earth turns around the sun. 三、it代替主语语从句: 四种类类型 3. it + 不及物动词 (happen, seem, appear, occur, matter.) + 从句 Eg. It happened that I was in the countryside at the time. Eg. It seems that it is going to rain soon. 4. it + be + 过去分词 (found, believed, reported, thought, proved, known, decided, suggested, required.) + 从句 Eg.
