Guide Students to express their favorite season. Teaching Difficult Point How to talk about their favorite season with each other in English . Teaching Methods: The situational teaching method, communicative 3 teaching method, competitive teaching method Teaching Aids: PPT ,Videos,Pictures Teaching Procedures: Step 1: Lead-in Introduce an old friend- Xiyangyang to students. Then teacher tells students if they want to play with Xiyangyang and his friends they must finish the three tasks Xiyangyang set for them. Next tell students they will be divided into two teams.They have to try their best to finish three tasks for their team in this class.Finally,the winning team will get the gifts on Xiyangyangs hand. Step 2. Task 1 Firstly, I will use five different weathers to make a review and lead to the new knowledge. For instance, “Whats your favourite weather? I like .days best.”. Then, I play a short video: A trees season.Students watch the video and guess what will learn today.Finally, lead to the topic My Favorite Season. (Make a move of each group according to their performance.) Step 3.Task 2 Task 2 mainly talks about the new words learning.I will use four ways to present the new words one by one. 1)spring Show pictures of pink flowers to guess the season. 2)Summer Play the sound of frog to guess the season. 3) autumn Use two maple leaves to guess the season 4) Winter 4 Teacher does the action , like rubbing her hands to guess the season. 5) Ask and Answer Teacher shows pictures of spring, summer, autumn and winter first. Then, student takes out one picture and make a conversation as follows. T: Which season do you like best? Ss: I like . best. (Make a move of each group according to their performance.) Step 4.Task 3 1)Do a survey Students work in group of six to talk about their favourite season and the reason.One student plays the role of reporter to ask other five students about their favourite season. Then, I will invite several groups to make a presentation in front of the class. (First, teacher invites five students to make a presentation as sample . Then give them enough time to make their own conversation. Finally ask some groups to act out their conversation. Walk around and give students help if necessary. ) (Make a move of each group according to their performance.) 2)Read and Match Students read the sentences and match with the pictures by themselves firstly. Then, teacher invites several students to show his or her result. (Make a move of each group according to their performance.) 5 3)Fill in the blank First, present new words that lack several letters and ask students to fill in.Then, use the words they filled to finish the sentences. (Make a move of each group according to their performance.) Step 5: Summary and Homework Summary T: Today we have learnt some words about season .There are spring, summer, autumn , winter. We also have learnt new sentence “Which season do you like best? I like . best.” to talk about your favorite season.
