Words in Unit 1 How tall are you? 一、教材内容分析 本单元的中心话题是询问身边的人或事物的身高、年龄、重量及长度并作比 较;主要语言功能是能够运用目标语言对身体或事物的高矮、大小、轻重、 长短等进行描述和问答;内容涉及人物身高、体重、年龄的比较。 本单元出现的形容词比较级, 其原形都在五年级作为四会单词学过,如: tall,short,big,small 等。教师在本单元语言的教学过程中要以旧引新,温故知新, 重视学生原有的语言知识基础,不断循环复现,巩固发展他们所学的知识。 二、教学目标 (一)知识目标: 1、能听、说、读、写 10 个四会单词: taller,stronger,older,younger,shorter,heaiver,thinner,longer, bigger,smaller;7 个四会句型:How tall are you ?Im 1.64 m tall.Youre shorter than me. Youre 4cm taller than me .How heavy are you ?Im 48 kg. Im thinner than you , and shorter . 2、能够听、说、认读 A、B 部分 Lets learn、Lets talk 中的三会单词和句型。 (二)能力目标: 1、学会用形容词的比较级来谈论自己、朋友及其他人或事物,如:Im taller than you. Youre stronger than me 等 2、学会用英文的长度和重量单位来描述人、物或动物的身高、体重和长度 等。如:Im 1.60 m tall. Im 49 kg. 等,并能借助长度及重量单位作比较。 如:Youre taller than me.Im older than you.等。 3、学会用本单元的目标语言分析比较调查的结果并作汇报。 (三)情感、策略、文化目标: 1、(情感态度)引导学生关注身边的人、事物及自然界中与我们共同生活 的其他生命。 2、(学习策略)训练学生角色扮演的能力,鼓励他们在调查、比较和分析 的过程中反思该如何扬长避短,让自己做得更好。 3、(文化目标)了解常见的长度和重量单位。 三、本单元的教学重、难点的确定 1、本单元的教学重点是让学生在联系日常生活的对话中运用比较级。 2、本单元的教学难点:(1)四会单词和句子的书写。 (2)比较级不规则变化和写法的掌握。 ( 3 ) 长度单位 meter 和重量单位 kilogram 的读音。 四、多媒体课件 五、教学步骤 Step1. Warming up Sing a song “My small cat”.(课件呈现) Step2.Presentation 1. Round 1:A game Play a game to review the words:taller/heavier/longer/ younger/older 2. Round 2:What is missing? Say the number which is missing,e.g.1.62,30. 3. Round 3:Pair work A:How old are you? B:Im 12. A:How tall are you? B:Im 1.62 m tall. A:How heavy are you? B:Im 36 kg. Have students work in pairs to talk about age,height and weight. Then invite some to show their conversations. 4.Round 4:Ask and compare E.g.taller/shorter T:Look at this picture,who is taller,Yao Ming or Liu Xiang? Ss:Yao Ming. Lead students to compare:Yao Ming is taller than Liu Xiang.Liu Xiang is shorter than Yao Ming. Then ask students to talk about other pictures and compare. 5.Round 5:Consolidation Let students do some practice to consolidate what they have learnt. Step 3:Homework Have students talk about others age,height and weight.
