Thanks for your Thanks for your attentionattention 人教精通版小学英语五年级下册人教精通版小学英语五年级下册 Fun Facts Elizabeth Blackwell 一、 教学目标 (1)能够理解、认读单词 university,chance,top, become,past 等 单词。 (2)了解课文中出现的动词过去式。 (3)掌握相关阅读策略包括 Extensive Reading, Fast Reading, Intensive Reading 以及 Reading together,能够运用不同策略解决 阅读中的不同问题。 (4)了解并能够简单介绍世界上第一位女医生Elizabeth Blackwell。 (5)通过伊丽莎白的励志故事,激励同学们为梦想而奋斗。 (6)通过小组合作展演以及海报制作的方法让孩子们了解中国古代 著名医生以及屠呦呦的相关知识,增强民族自豪感。 教学重、难点: 重点:(1)理解、认读单词 university,chance,top, become,past 等单词。 (2)理解并能够用英语向他人介绍 Elizabeth Blackwell。 难点:(1)对文中出现的过去式的理解。 (2)对生词 university,chance,top, become,past 的认读。 (3)针对不同的任务选取不同的阅读策略。 学情分析:从阅读的整体把握上,作为五年级的孩子,他们不是第 一次接触到人物传记方面的阅读,所以对人物的分析与理解是有一 定基础的。再者,孩子们已经学习很多 Fun Facts 的阅读,所以对于 阅读策略是有所掌握的。从文章时态表达上,学生们现在学习的主 要是一般现在时态,又由于汉语的负面迁移,在学习过程中对过去 时态的理解是有一定障碍的。所以在没系统学习这一部分知识的时 候,要有所取舍。五年级的孩子们知识是有一定程度的积累,所以 通过情景法讲解单词是十分高效的方法。 Step1:Warm- up 1. Greetings 2. Do an interview to our guestElizabeth Blackwell. T: We have a guest today. If you want to know her, you can ask her some question. 1) Whats your name? 2) How old are you? 3) Where are you from? 4) Whats your job? (设计意图:以学生扮演伊丽莎白,让学生感知伊丽莎白的人物形象, 并通过对伊丽莎白的采访,形成对她基本信息的了解。) 3. Show a Dream Tower and my gift. T: Look at the beautiful Dream Tower, you are at the bottom. If you answer my questions correctly, your group will make a step upward. I have a gift for you; the first group can open it. (设计意图:揭示评价原则,梦想之塔紧扣文章主题。并且梦想之 塔也对后文单词的理解有所帮助。 ) Step2: Presentation 1. Matching(匹配单词). 1) Match the word cards. T: There are some word cards on your desk. Please match them in pairs.(work-worked, want-wanted, was-is, could-can, give-gave, have- had, become-became) 2) Read these words with the fingers. (worked, wanted, was, could, gave, had, became. ) (设计意图:由于人物关系,文章出现了一些过去式的表达。而这 些词的原型是学生们熟悉的,所以用单词配对的方法让同学们感知 每组词之间是有关联的。简单的说明在谈论伊丽莎白这一过去人物 我们需要用到特殊的形式,在通过伴随手指舞读单词,强化读。 ) 2. Extensive Reading(泛读). 1) Read quickly. 2) Answer the questions about the main meanings. (Whats Wang Lis dream?/ Whats Elizabeths dream?/ Did Elizabeth realize her dream?) (设计意图:培养阅读策略,泛读感知文章大意和关键信息。 ) 3. Fast Reading(速读). 1)Pick out the new words a. Read as fast as you can. b. Circle the new words and talk about the meaning. c. If you cant guess the meaning, write them at the back of the cards. (设计意图:首先是培养阅读策略,速度找出生词。先通过小组内 解决生词,不能解决的交由老师解决。 ) 2) Explain the new words. University- T: I have a dream that one day I could study in Tsinghua University. Do you got it? T: In Tianjin, there are two very famous universities, too? Tell me what are they? T: Here is a picture of University, called Geneva College School. Elizabeth Graduated from it in 1849. (设计意图, 通过感知语意,判断单词大意。结合身边实际,对生 词加以应用再次强化,最后出示伊丽莎白的大学,将单词回归。 ) Chance- T: You know I have a gift for you. Now you have a chance to guess whats in it. If you are right, you can open it. T: Elizabeth got the only chance to study in university. (设计意图:结合对礼物的猜测,判断 chance 的意思。 ) Top- T: Look at our Dream Tower. You are at the bottom, if you work hard, you can get the top. T: Elizabeth is the top student means Elizabeth is No. 1. (设计意图:结合梦想塔让学生感知 top 的含义,并揭示文章中相 关句子。 ) 4. Intensive Reading(精读) 1) Task1. Match the main meaning for each paragraph. 2) Task2. Fill in the blanks with key words. (Check the answer) (设计意图:通过前几步骤的策略以解决文章的存在的阅读障碍,精 读这一阅读策略是来处理细节的信息。) 5. Reading together with music. (设计意图:分小组齐读,整体感知文章。 ) 6. saying after reading(读后续说). T: We have finished the text, but the story about Elizabeth didnt come to the end. Who wants to talk about what happened to Elizabeth after she worked in a hospital. (设计意图:同学们发挥想象,对伊丽莎白人物的命运大胆猜测。 也是为后面的展演做铺垫。 ) T: I think we will get the answer in the following part. Step3. Showing by reading. (阅读展示) Task1: A sand-painting of the text. (结合文章内容对沙画视频配音) Task2: A drama of Elizabeth Blackwell. (以人物对话的形式,展现伊丽莎白的一生,并揭示伊丽莎白后来 的命运。 ) T: I think we have get the answer. When Elizabeth worked in a hospital, she injured her eye, she cant see anything. But she didnt give up her dream, she built a hospital to help the sick. Elizabeth is a great doctor. In China, there are many great doctors, too. Now, Lets get some knowledge about them. Task3: A poster about Tu Youyou. (让同学们对我国的医药工作者有所了解。 ) Task4: A visit to a special Museum(Ancient Doctor Museum). (展现中国古代中医的杰作。 ) Step4: Consolation 1. Write down you dream. T: Doctors are great, so do you want to be a doctor? T: Whats your dream? Write it on the butterfly. T: Who wants to read it with all your passion? 2. Fly the butterfly. T: If you seize the chance and then work hard, all you dream will come ture. (设计意图:写出梦想,读出梦想,让孩子再次思考自己的梦想。 ) T: Which group is the first? 3Open the gift. T: Its a paper-cutting of Elizabeth. It is made by me. After class, you can put it in your classroom. I think the spirit of Elizabeth will encourage all of us to fight for our dream. (设计意图:以中国传统艺术形式剪纸艺术再次将课堂带回到伊 丽莎白本身,鼓励同学们为梦想而奋斗。 ) Step5: Homework 1.
