The students have already learnt about verbs in the previous lessons. Verbs: They are words or doing words. Chalks, board, markers, textbook, charts Class duration ：40 minutes Lesson Plan-Class instruction Warm Up(5 minutes): Sing a phonics song together Introduction: T: Today we are going to practice pronouncing past tense sounds using regular verbs ending in “-ed”. For regular verbs, we usually add “-ed” to the end of the verb to make it past tense. The spelling is easy because you just add “-ed” but the pronunciation can be a little tricky. What do you hear when I say smelled as in It smelled bad? The ed verb ending sounds like a /d/ and when I say visited as in I visited New York City how did I pronounce that ed ending? I like to give them exercises to do in pairs, and also as a large group. Ive found that variety helps keep them interested. Activity one: sort the “ robot man” Each students have their own handout and work in four to practice the ed pronunciation. Teacher go around and see if anyone need help. Can students come to the stage and put the ed words in the right place. Activity two: Open the book and read after the video.
