The teaching procedures Step 1 Warm-up 1. Play a game “sharp eyes”. PPT shows the picture quickly and students speak the words or phrases. 2. Show a picture about playtime. T: What are they doing? S: They are enjoying their playtime. 3. Show some pictures of the students. T: What are you doing? S: We are enjoying our playtime. T: Our friends Bill and Joy are enjoying their playtime, too. Lets see together. Step2 Presentation: 1. Show the main scene of Lesson 2. T: Lets see the picture. Can you see grass/trees/? 2. Show a picture about riding a bike. (1) Lead students to speak the phrase “ride a bike”. T: What can he do? S: Ride a bike. T: If we dont know whether someone can ride a bike, how do we ask? S: Can you ride a bike? (2) Analyze the functional sentence “Can you?” “Yes, I can.” “No, I cant.” (3) Practice the sentences by using the pictures. 3. Watch the video and answer the questions. Q1: Who can play football? Q2: Who can ride a bike? 4. Watch the video again and imitate sentence by sentence. 5. Read the dialogue by groups. Step 3 Practice 1. Lets talk. Students use the models to make a dialogue. 2. Lets survey Imitate part B to make a survey. Two students a group make a survey. Step 4 Consolidation Teacher use the models to help students reviewing the functional sentence. .
