Key points: Ss are able to use the target sentence pattern smoothly in the given situation. Difficult points: the way to express time Teaching procedure: step1: Lead in: guessing riddle After greeting with ss, Ill divide ss into 2 groups (boys and girls) and then make a game-guessing riddle, and ss should guess the answer- clock. In this way, ss attention can be captured and the new class is led in. Step2: Revision and Presentation 1. Firstly, Ill have a revision for ss about the knowledge that they have learned in class four (-Whats the time? -Its oclock.) Through this way, I can present the target sentence “ -What time is it? -Its .) 2. Secondly, I will show ss a way to express time and then ss should have some practices about time expression. Which group can perform better and they can get more stars. 3. Thirdly, I will use ppt to show ss some pictures about “lets learn” and I will lead ss to present the sentence “Its time for sth”. Meanwhile, ss should read every phrase and sentence loudly after me in a rising and falling tone (breakfast, breakfast, Its time for breakfast) and pay more attention to the pronunciation and intonation. Step3: Practice and Consolidation 4. To make ss learn for fun, Ill design a game “Clock Wizard”. Our good friend Dongdong was trapped in a dream by Clock Wizard. We cannot help Dongdong out until we can pass all the cuts set up by Clock Wizard. Cut 1: Magic clock 5. Ss must answer all the five questions right and then they can pass the cut 1. For example: What time is it? Its seven tenWhich group can perform better and they can get more stars. Cut 2: Magic box Every two ss should pick two cards out from the two magic boxes, one is about time, and one is about sth, and then they should make two sentences. And then they can get the applause if the two sentences are reasonable. Cut 3: The little teacher I will choose some ss to come to the podium to be a little teacher. And they should ask others some question and other ss should answer it according to the timetable. (And both the two groups can get the similar reward.) Finally, ss have passed all the customs, so they can help Dongdong out and he can return to his real life. All of ss are superhero. Thus, they can get a present which is an old saying “一寸光阴一寸金, 寸金难买寸光阴。 ”meanwhile, I want to tell ss to value highly their time. Step4: Summary I will conclude what we have learned today.
