1 Unit 4 What do you see? I. Teaching aims 1. Aims on the knowledge: (1) To enable the Ss to understand and speak: “What do you see? I see”Make sure that Ss can use these sentences in real situations. (2) To enable the Ss to master the new words: bird, fish, sheep, pig and chicken. 2. Aims on the ability: (1) To develop Ss abilities of listening and speaking. (2) To train the Ss ability of working in groups. 3. Aims on the emotion: To foster Ss consciousness of good cooperation and proper competition. II. Key points and difficult points: The key-points of this lesson: Ss can understand and say the core language of this class. Difficult points here: To help the Ss to distinguish the pronunciation. III. Teaching methods: As we all know, the main instructional aims of learning English in primary school is to cultivate pupils basic abilities of listening and speaking and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson Ill mainly use “Task-based” teaching method. That is to say, Ill let the Ss learn in real situations, to help the Ss to get a better understanding of 2 the key structure of the sentences. And in this lesson a recorder, CAI, animal cards and a printed form will be needed. IV. Teaching procedures and purposes of my designing. Ill finish this lesson in four steps. Step 1 Warm-up and Revision. a. T: Hello, Boys and Girls ! Ss: Hello, Miss Lu! T: Everybody! Lets listen to a song and try to dance! (Teacher and the students chant and do the actions. The song named I see elephants in the zoo) Purpose : Greeting, eliminate nervous emotion, take the students go into the relaxed mood, train the students ability of oral English .At the same time, with the Chant of Unit 2, review the animals, and do the action, rendering the atmosphere of study, reflects the integration of English teaching and music course. Step 2 Presentation Now Ill mainly talk about this step. 1. Lead in: Blue sky, white clouds, green trees and beautiful flowers. A bird is singing in the tree. Birds are flying in the sky. What do you see in the tree? 2. T: What do you see in the sky/ in the river/ on the grass? Ss: I see many birds, fish and sheep. 3 Purpose: Creating context, let students understand the content in a simulation environment, to learn the language skillfully applied to actual life, to live. Game: Mime the animals Chant: One sheep, two sheep, I see many sheep. Three fish, four fish, I see many fish (Make a new chant by yourself.) 3. New content: a. Listen and answer b. Read silently and answer c. Listen and imitate d. Read emotionally and role play Purpose: In the context of the use of vocabulary. Inspire students to actively participate in teaching the games enthusiasm, causes the student to experience in the participation, in innovation and development. Step 3 Consolidation and extension 1. Listen to the tape and follow it .(Part 1 , Part 7) 2. Rearrange the chant. Purpose: Task-based teaching method is used here to develop Ss abilities of communication and co-operation. Step 4 Homework. Go outside to enjoy the spring! 4 T: The earth is our home, animals are my friends. We need a pair of eyes to find the beauty and enjoy our life.
