The important points are: students can use “Whats in the box?” to ask, and can use “Yes, it is. No, it isnt.” to answer. The difficult points are: to express “Is it a ?” and “Its a ” in English correctly. AnalysisAnalysis ofof studentstudent situation.situation. Students in grade 3 have learnt English for 2 years, and it is not difficult for them to learn something new. Also they are very curious about life around them. They are easily get excited by learning new things. So I design lots of games to meet their needs. TeachingTeaching andand learninglearning method.method. The main teaching methods are situational teachin g method, intuitive teaching method and task-base d teaching method. The main learning methods are listening, speaking, reading, writing, and imitation method. Students ca n practice in pairs, group and other kind of teamwo rk. The teaching aids are: recorder, power point, pic tures, box, toys and so on. TeachingTeaching process.process. 1.1. I would like my students sing an English song “I see elephants in the zoo.” before the class begin, because it can help students love English. 2) Revision. Review the words and the dialogue in the last two units. By showing a toy bear to introduce the new lesson. The purpose is to review the old knowledge and make preparation for the new lesson. 2.2. PresentationPresentation 1) Learn new words. I will teach them new words by showing pictures and using objects. Then ask them to read aloud, the whole class together. During teaching the new words, Ill show phonetic symbols to them. 2) Test the words. Play guessing games with them, ask them to put words into phrases, and find out who can do the best. After the guessing game, students can use “Is it a ? Yes, it is. No, it isnt.” to ask and answer. Then sing a song to enhance the words. The purpose is to know whether students master the new words or not, and it is also to check if they are ready for the following dialogue. 3) Learn the sentences. Ill put a toy bear in a pencil box and ask a student “Wheres the bear?”. Then lead the students to learn “in the pencil box” and “in the box”. 4) Learn the dialogue.
