Teaching procedures: Step 1 Warm up and Lead in 1.Greetings: Hello, boys and girls 2.Divide students into 4 groups and give explanation of assessment.(Draw a clock) 3. Sing number songs. 4.Review: Teacher shows 1+1=2,1+10=11,1+11=12 and let students say them in English as quickly as they can. Step 2 Presentation (1) Teacher shows 1+1=? 10+1=? 11+1+? on the smart board and guide students to give the answer“12. Then teacher presents “eleven on the blackboard.(Group1,2,3,4 read) Let students count from one to twelve. (2) Create a situation: Conys story Let students watch the video : Conys story a. Present clock on the blackboard and let students read after me (Boys and girls read) b. Present the sentences: T: What does Cony ask?(Guide students to say the question) Present the sentence “What time is it? on the blackboard. Then let students read after me(领读) T: What does Conys mother say? (Lead students to say the question) Present the sentence “Its nine oclock. on the blackboard. Then let students read after me(领读) Let students look at the picture on the screen T: There are lots of numbers on the clock and we can ask what time it is. Let students listen to the dialogue and T presents two sentences on the blackboard:What time is it? It is .oclock. at the same time. Then let students read the dialogue after me. Step 3 Practice Activity: Help Cony tell time Let students say “Its _ oclock. according to the pictures. Guessing Game: Let some students look at the picture on the screen and guess what time it is. a. 师生对话: Teacher asks s1,s2,s3,s4 questions What time is it ? b.生生对话: Let group1,2 ask and group 3,4 answer. c. Play the game : 翻板游戏(What time is it?) d. Let students practice the dialogue in pairs. T: Please work in pairs to practice the dialogue. Two minutes for you. Role Play : Choose some pairs to act out the dialogue. (one is Cony, and another is Conys mother.) e. Chant: Let students say a chant about time . Step 4 Production 1. Let draw their clocks. 2. Let four students in a group show their pictures and talk about time. Step 5 Summary 1. Enjoy and sing a song about time. 2. Get 2 or 3 students tell the teacher what they have learned today. 3.Assessment: To see which group is the winner. Step 6 Homework 1. Listen to the recording for 15 minutes. 2. Draw three clocks and tell different time to their parents or friends. 3. Sing the song to their parents.
