    6、reeting Purpose: The teacher greets students as usual and begin the class with a short song. Step 2 Enjoy a video (4 minutes) Purpose: Show a video to elicit the topic and present some new words , the students will have good interest in it. T:Can you tell me the name of the mountain in the video? S:

Step 3 Pre-reading (2 minutes) Task 1: knowledge of Qomolangma and ew words Purpose: Let the students guess what things maybe talked about according to the title and the

    8、picture. T: Look at the picture and the title: Qomolangma - the Most Dangerous Mountain in the World? Is it about the dangers or the beauty of Qomolangma? Step 4 While-reading Purpose: Design different tasks to train the reading skills and divide the passage into three paragraphs to lower the diffic

    9、ulty of reading. All of these are aimed at arousing the studentsinterest in reading and in English. Task 2: Readthe passage quickly and try to match the main idea of each paragraph. Purpose: Let the students read through each paragraph quicklyand match each paragraph with its main idea in order to t

    10、rain the reading skill - Skimming. (Let the text of each paragraph go through the screen from bottom to the top.)
