Last March it was the rule of Uranus (天王星), and last week astronomers announced what may turn out to be a new planet, though a very small one, in the solar system. The object was first sighted last month by Charles Kowal, an as

20、ess, “On the whole, Chinas space technology still lags behind the West, but with Change 4 landing on the far side of the moon, we have raced to the front.” He added that China plans to explore Mars, Jupiter and asteroids in the future. “Theres no doubt that our nation will go farther and farther,” h
21、e said. In 2013, Change 3 made the first moon landing since the Soviet Unions Luna 24 in 1976. The United States is the only country that has successfully sent a person to the moon. But China is considering a crewed mission, as well. For now, China plans to send a Change 5 spacecraft to the moon in
22、2019 and have it return to Earth with collected particles. Change 4 will make astronomical observations and examine the structure and mineral composition of the ground above and below the surface.
