Xu Xiake(15871641), was a Chinese travel writer and geographer of the Ming Dynasty known best for his famous geographical diaries noted for his bravery and humility(谦逊). He traveled throughout China for more than 30 years, documenting his travels which would be compiled into the The Travel Diaries Xu Xiake. Zheng He (13711433 or 1435) was a Chinese admiral and explorer who led several voyages around the Indian Ocean.
