Warm- up 1.Mime game to introduce the topic “transport”. e.g. Its a transport which runs on the track. 2.Brain-storm other transport words. Step1. Warm- up 1. Guess what the transport it is by asking Is it a .? Train. 2.Brain-storm other transport words. Progress Indicator Step2. Presentation 1. Teach new words: scooter,skateboard, subway) T: Whats behind the desk? (Show a scooter.) Who would like to jump on the scooter? 2. Play the recording of the transport words. 3. Hold up flash cards for Ss to say the words in chorus. (Focus on the unfamiliar words.) 4.Talk about the big picture. 1)Present the picture and ask some questions. What can you see in the picture ? Who can you see ? Where are they going? 2)Play the recording of the dialogue and check students understanding. Where are they going?How do they go there? Step2.Presentation & Practice 1. Ss learn “scooter” by experiencing or watching. 2. Listen and say the transport words. 3. Look at the flash cards and practice saying the words. 4.Talk about the big picture. 1)Look at the picture and answer the questions. Ss may talk about the transport words. Some people and super friends. . 2)Listen and get the main information. S: Theyre going to the beach by bus. Progress Indicator 2 Step3.Practice. 1. Group work: play a game of making new sentences. In groups, each student takes turn to choose a card of place and a card of transport to make a new sentence. 2. Lets chant. 1).Play the recording of the chant. Pre-teach: Are we going far? 2). Play the recording again. Ss do the chant as a class. 3). Groups take turns to chant each verse while others clap in time with the rhythm. 4).Chant in pairs.
