Step 2 Introduction Point at the world map, and ask students some countries on the map. T: Now, class, whats this? S: Its a map. T: OK class, Look at this map. S: Its China. T: Yes, thats our “country”, yes? S: Yes. T: Ok, read after me “country”. S: Country. T: China is where we live. Yes? S: Yes. T: Lets look at this country, Jenny lives in this country. Can you guess? S: Oh, Its Canada. T: Now look at the purple country. This is the countrys flag. They speak English. Can you guess? S: 美国. T: Then Read after me “United States, U.S.” S: United States, US. Step 3 Practice 1.Divide the class into several groups and make dialogues. For example: A: Where do you live, B? B: I live in_. B: Where are you from, C? C: I come from_. C: Where are you from, A? A: I am from _. 2.Lets sing! Round and round the earth goes. One big world, everyone knows. Look around. What do you see? I see one world for you and me. I see Beijing. I see London, too. I see Washington D.C. How about you? I see all the people living together. Living in peace now and forever. Step 4 Homework 1. Read the passage. 2. Write each new word and sentence twice.
