When she had time, she would bring food and medicine to them. One morning she told her children about a family she had visited the day before
3、. There was a man sick in bed, his wife, who took care of him and could not go out to work, and their little boy. The little boy - his name was Bernard - had interested her very much. “I wish you could see him,” she said to her own children, John, Harry, and Clara. “He is such a help to his mother.
4、He wants very much to earn some money, but I dont see what he can do.” After their mother left the room, the children sat thinking about Bernard. “I wish we could help him to earn money.” said Clara. “His family is suffering so much.” “So do I,” said Harry. “We really should do something to assist t
5、hem.” For some moments, John said nothing, but, suddenly, he sprang to his feet and cried, “I have a great idea! I have a solution that we can all help accomplish (完成).” The other children also jumped up all attention. When John had an idea, it was sure to be a good one. “I tell you what we can do,”
6、 said John. “You know that big box of corn Uncle John sent us? 12、孩子们是如何做的扩展开去,可以写孩子们是如何分工 的,他们都做了什么,Mrs. Meredith 帮他们做了什么,无论从什么角度拓展,都要注意与续写第二段首句呼应。 2. 第二段所给首句 “With everything ready. Bernard started out on his new business.” 这一句与前文 Bernard can take it around to the houses and sell it.呼应,可以从伯纳德卖出爆米花后的感受,以及 Mrs. Meredith 的孩子们帮助伯纳德 后的感受拓展。 【易错分析】【易错分析】 1. 审题失误 这篇文章的
13、主题应该体现“互助、感恩” ,但是个别同学写成了赞扬小男孩的努力养家。 2. 细节失误 文章中提到了叔叔送了一大箱子玉米,续写时有同学又写到去商店买玉米,信息不对称。还有上文提到是 take it around to the houses and sell it挨家挨户卖, 但是下文有同学写到了去广场上卖, 去富人区 (somewhere richer) 卖图片图片 3. 考虑不周全 续写第一段开头 “妈妈也认为是个好主意” , 接下来应该写什么?好多同学看到了续写第二段的 with everything ready,断定上文应该写准备爆爆米花过程,这 absolutely right。但是,
14、要不要提前去找 Bernard 一家沟通呢?不管 人家同不同意就开始各种准备,是不是有点不尊重对方的感觉? 4. 时态错误 这是最普遍的错误。如: She thought its a good idea.(误) She thought it was a good idea. 15、uffering so much.” have a solution that we can all help accomplish (完成完成) .” 续写第一段的段首语提到 Mrs. Meredith 也同意 John 的主意,那接下来就会涉及到把计划告诉 Bernard 一家、 他们有什么反应、以及如何制作爆米花。 第二段段首语提到Bernard开始他的新营生, 接下来就涉及到爆米花卖给谁、 别人对Bernard的反应、 以及Bernard 的感受。(new business 不一定就是指卖爆米花,不同学生有不同思路) 有了剧情, 有了主题, 再根据续写两段给的第一句话 When Mrs

Meredith heard of Johns idea, she thought it was a good one,too. 和 With everything ready, Bernard started out on his new business. 我们知道Bernard 应该在众人的帮助之 下,批发了爆米花,遇到了没有成本,于是 Clara, Harry, John 应该会借钱给 Bernard 去进口爆米花,然后 Bernard 售出去了自己的爆米花给邻居们, 邻居们根据材料中爱的主旨, 应该是踊跃购买, 支持Bernard的爆米花事业。 Bernard 赚了钱,还清了 C
17、lara, Harry, John 的钱,并且用盈余的钱来补贴家用,一家人对于 Mrs. Meredith, Clara, Harry, John 还有邻里的帮助非常感动。总之续写要体现温情,互助,有尊严,自立自强,这些积极的元素。 值得注意的是,根据续写第二段的 with everything ready,我们知道续写第一段应该是 Bernard 在做准备工作,而 且他的准备工作应该是基于 Clara, Harry,John 的帮助 话题激活词汇: 情感:happy,excited,delighted,gratitude,thankful,expect 动作:smile,laugh,help
