And I took lots of photos. How about you? What did you do last weekend? Step 2 While-reading 1. Lead in. Introduce a new friend : Xiaoming. T: Xiaoming had a good time last weekend. What did he do? Lets guess. (Have Ss guess what Xiaoming did last weekend.) 2. Have Ss listen to the tape and answer the question: What did Xiaoming do last weekend? 3. Read the 3rd paragraph and fill in the blanks. What did people do in the parade? Some people _. Some _. Some _. 4. Read the 5th, 6th and 7th paragraphs and circle the names of the cartoon characters Xiaoming saw. 5. Read the three paragraphs again and find out what the Disney characters did in the parade. Do the exercise on page 13. 6. Check the answer. Watch the video and learn the new phrases: drove a big airship, said hello to people, smiled and waved hands, moved 3 slowly. 7. Have Ss look at the blackboard and try to retell what Xiaoming saw in the great parade. 8. Read the whole passage and do the “T or F” exercise. 9. Listen and read the passage after the tape. Step 3 Post reading 1. Have Ss try to say something about the parade they know in Zhongshan. Lead in the charity parade. 2. Watch the video about the charity parade. 3. Have Ss talk in group of four: What did people do in the charity parade? Some people. 4. Ask some groups to come to the platform and share their ideas. 5. Try to finish the passage about the charity parade. 6. Ask some of the students to share their writing. 7.
