The title is A Boy Who Shouted “Wlof!” from Review1, Book 8. It focus on the topic of tales, and such a topic is related to our daily life and entertainment. So it is easy to arouse the students learning interests. Part 2Analysis of the students The students in Grade 6 have learned English for some years. They can understand and express many words and sentences. They are curious, active and fond of games and various of activities. And they should also be encouraged by the teacher to study in a relaxing atmosphere. Part 3Teaching objectives 1. Knowledge objectives: Learn the words and expressions. Understand the main idea of the article. Master the usage of the past tense of verbs. 2. Ability objectives: Be able to use some reading skills: scanning, skimming and careful reading. Enlarge relative knowledge by reading more material. Try to act the story. 3. Emotional objectives: Develop the spirit of cooperation through discussion and group work. Step 3Careful reading 1. Show the picture one by one and let the students fill in the blanks. 2. Explain the difficult words and expressions with body languages. 3. A game Ask several students to do actions about a word in front and others guess what it is. Step 4 Post reading 1. Hand out the tools for acting to each group. 3 2. Give them 5 minutes to prepare the the performance that they choose. 3. Ask several groups to act in front. 4. Choose the best performers and give reward to them. Step 5 Homework 1. Read the story twice. 2. Continue to write the story of the boy.
