    4、or.It was wet and trembling.At first it was difficult to see the little one.It was the yellow spots on its eyes that made me realize its presence.It was trying to get under the doormat to avoid the cold air outside and it had managed to get in as I could see only its head outside the doormat.Was it

    5、sick or injured?I felt pity for the poor soul.I went in and came out with an old towel.I went near the innocent one and held it in my hand and wiped the puppy till he had become dry.I took him into my room and made a bed for him with a woolen blanket and a small pillow.He seemed very healthy and com

    6、fortable in his new bed as he went to sleep immediately.The next morning,everyone in the family came to know about the unusual guest.“Shall we keep him with us?”I questioned my mom.Like any other parents would,my parents first totally refused my idea but my sister and I convinced them to keep Spotty

    7、.Slowly Spotty got on with everyone and became one of the family members.One day Spotty returned from his daily walk with a broken leg._.Almost a year later,one midnight,we heard Spotty barking breathlessly._ _.moan weakly/be short of breath (2017浙江高考)On a bright,warm July afternoon,Mac Hollan,a pri

    11、,it fell back,only to quickly restart the chase.Mac was pedaling hard now.He waved and yelled at passing cars but was careful not to slow down.He saw a steep uphill climb before him.He knew that once he hit the hill,hed be easy caught up and the wolfs teeth would be tearing into his flesh.At this mo

    12、ment,Paul and Becky were driving their car on their way to Alaska.They didnt think much of it when they saw two cyclists repairing their bike on the side of the road.A bit later,they spotted what they,too,assumed was a dog running alongside a man on a bike.As they got closer,they realized that the d

    13、og was a wolf.Mac heard a large vehicle behind him.He pulled in front of it as the wolf was catching up fast,just a dozen yards away now.The car abruptly stopped in front of him._ A few minutes later,the other two friends arrived._ A few minutes later,the other two friends arrived.They were shocked

    14、to find a wolf fainted and fell onto the ground before them.It turned out that the while pills were sleeping pills Becky brought along.In relief,they moved the wolf to the bush on the roadside,for fear that it got run over by the traffic.Mac thanked again and again for Paul and Beckys timely help.Th

    19、ed the dog some of her favorite peanut butter treats.They even let her sit on the sofa,but the old girl just wasnt her usual cheerful self.Her owners started to get worried.What should we do to cheer Poppy up?asked Dad.Weve tried everything.I have an idea,but it might be a little crazy,smiled Mom.Wi

    20、thout anybody left in the house but us,this place could use a bit of fun.Lets get a little dog for Poppy.It didnt take long before they walked through the front door carrying a big box.Poppy welcomed them home as usual,but when she saw the box,she stopped.She put her nose on it.Her tail began waggin
