3、of the teacher organizing all the situations and involving the target structures in the passage, it is possible for students to discover the rules and put them into practice.II. Learning objectives According to the analysis above, here come the learning objectives. First, language objectives. By the
4、 end of the lesson, Ss will be able to know the form, meaning and function of the present continuous tense expressing futurity. Second, language skill objectives. By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to use present continuous tense to express future actions. Next is learning strategy. During th
5、e class, they will sort and summarize what they have learned, try to discover the grammatical rules. As for emotion and cultural awareness objectives, Ss will be able to be conscious of their schedule in real life and develop the habit of planning in advance. With the help of teacher, it is easy for
6、 the students to discover and use the target structure, which is the key point of this lesson. In order to help the students to deal with the difficult point, that is how to use present continuous tense to express a plan or something to be done according to plan, Ill adopt the following solutions: l
7、earn the target structure in meaningful discourses; practice the grammatical items in real life situations; talk about future activities.Although they are students of Grade 1 senior high school, the students lack related vocabulary and poor in cooperative learning skills. Thanks to their curiosity a
8、nd eagerness of obtaining knowledge, it will reduce the difficulty of this lesson.Now lets focus on the third part, Analysis of the teaching methods. When I deal with this lesson. Ill do my best to carry out some teaching theories of the new curriculum: taking the students as the host and the teache
9、r subordinate. Carry out task-based learning and cooperative learning. Let the students receive some moral education while they are learning the English language. I will adopt “Communicative Language Teaching”, “Take-based Activity” as teaching methods, and “Discovering learning”, “Cooperative learn
10、ing” learning methods. Teaching aids, such as multi-media, digital projector, a tape recorder and a blackboard, will be used.III. Teaching procedureWith the help of multimedia devices and PPT documents as my teaching aids, I will lead the students to achieve all those objectives and deal with the di
11、fficulty in the following teaching procedure.My lesson consists of eight activities. They are going to be finished within 45 minutes. Activity 1 is singing a song for warming-up. Students will enjoy a song “Would you like to go out?” while thinking of the question: What is her plan from Monday to Fr
12、iday? After enjoying the song, Ill begin to gather students answers to the question. Next I will present those sentences indicating futurity on the blackboard. Then Ill draw students attention to the form and meaning of those sentences by asking the following questions: What is common for all these
13、sentences in structure? ( They are all using the present continuous tense.) What is the girl talking about by saying these sentences? ( She is talking about her plan for the next week.)Activity 2 is making a plan. Students come back to the travelling plan they worked out in the last class and contin
14、ue their discussion on some detailed issues about their plan with reference to the following questions: 1. How are you going to the place? 2. What are you doing there? 3. Where are you staying? 4. When are you returning?Activity 3 is making a survey. I will tell the class that there will be an Engli
15、sh drama show on this Saturday evening and tell them to do a survey on their fellow classmates plan and find out who are going to watch the show. Then students will give a short report about their survey, using the present continuous tense to express futurity. After that I will summarize that the pr
16、esent continuous tense can express a plan or an arrangement in the near future.Activity 4. Ask students to find similar sentences from the reading passage. Where are we going? When are we leaving and when are we coming back? Activity 5 is discovery. I will lead students to find that some verbs like
17、come, go, start, leave and stay used in the present continuous tense can express near future actions even without indicating the future time. e.g. My friend is coming for my birthday party. Activity 6 is situational practice. I will have students complete the following conversation. In the dialogue,
18、 a newspaper reporter is interviewing Mr. Wang about his plan for the trip in America. Ill check their answers. Enough attention should also be given to the new words appearing in this dialogue. Encourage them to guess the word meaning at first and then provide some explanation if necessary.Activity
19、 7 is pair work. Ill have students work in pairs to work out what their partners are doing for the next week. Activity 8 is group work for consolidation. Ill have students in groups make up a dialogue about the future plans of their group members and then report to the class what their group members
20、 are going to do.This speaking activity is the output of the previous work. Through the talk, students creatively express themselves in a real life situation, using present continuous tense to express futurity. And they also have the chance to assess their classmates performance, which also leads th
21、em to reflect on their own work afterwards.At the end of this lesson comes the homework. For homework, I will ask the students to write down their dialogues and correct the mistakes by themselves. For the second piece of homework, some multiple choices are given for consolidation of the grammar learned.IV. Blackboard designThis is my my blackboard design. There are two parts.
