Im number X candidate applying for the English teacher of the secondary school. And my topic today is the grammar focus of section A in Unit 11 How was your school trip? In o
2、rder to make my presentation much clearer, Im going to divide it into 6 sections, that is, the analysis of teaching materials, analysis of students, teaching methods, learning methods, teaching procedures and blackboard design. Now I am going to present them one by one.Part One: Analysis of Teaching
3、 MaterialThe first and foremost is the analysis of the teaching materials. Todays lesson is the grammar part of section A in Unit 11 in book 2, published by Peoples Education Press. The learning content of this lesson is to comprehend the forms and functions of past events, such as wh- questions and
4、 yes-no questions, and the past tense of regular and irregular verbs. The study of this grammar point can help students to express events that happed in the past so that they can communicate with others about their past meaningful experience, thus good personal relationship can be maintained.With re
5、ference to the Curriculum Standard,I have set the following three objectives:Knowledge objectives:1. Ss can understand the wh- questions and yes-no question forms and functions of past tense. 2. Ss can remember the rules of the past tense of regular and irregular verbs.Ability objectives:1. Students
6、 can put the two kinds of question forms of past tense in to actual use and use the past tense of different verbs correctly in out daily life. 2. Through the pair work and group work of students, their comprehensive language abilities will be greatly improved.Emotional objective: Ss can appreciate t
7、he importance of being able to describe things happened in the past. They can realize the importance of time and develop the love for their hometown.Based on the teaching objectives mentioned above/ Given the teaching materials and the students characteristics, the teaching key points are that Ss ca

While the teaching difficult point is that students can put the two kinds of question forms of past tense in to actual use and use th
9、e past tense of different verbs correctly in our daily life.Part Two: Analysis of studentsIn order to make our teaching more targeted, it is necessary for us to analyze the situation of students. Students in Grade 7 have studied English for at least 4 years and grasped a certain amount of English gr
10、ammar knowledge. They have learnt the simple present tense and the progressive tense already. They are eager to show, eager to learn. They can cooperate with their classmates to finish a task. On the other hand, students ability of using English is limited; their abstract thinking is not fully devel
11、oped and they can be easily distracted. Therefore, all of these shall be taken into consideration into todays teaching. Diverse and interesting activities should be arranged to arouse their interest and enthusiasm.Part Three: Teaching MethodsAccording to the analysis of teaching materials and studen
12、ts, Im going to arrange my lesson by mainly adopting the task-based language teaching method, communicative approach and situational approach. Because modern foreign language teaching emphasizes that ss should be encouraged to develop effective learning strategies and autonomous learning abilities b
13、y means of experiencing, practicing, participating, exploring and cooperating under the teachers guidance. While task-based language teaching and communicative approach can let ss have opportunities to experience different ways of language study. In this class, students will be encouraged to do some
14、 tasks by working in groups, thus students language skills will be improved by completing the tasks and working together.Part Four: Learning MethodsAfter referring to the students physical and physiological characteristics, under the guidance of the teacher, students will acquire the English knowled
15、ge and to improve their English skills by autonomic learning, cooperating, exploring, etc. Because modern foreign language teaching emphasizes that ss should be encouraged to develop effective learning strategies and autonomous learning abilities by means of experiencing, practicing, participating,
16、exploring and cooperating. In this class, the teacher will encourage all the students to practice listening and speaking bravely by giving them tasks which needs to be done in pairs and groups, for example, students will be required to work in pairs to describe what people are doing in pictures prov
17、ided by the teacher. Part Five:Teaching proceduresAccording to the analyses above, next, we will come to the most important part: teaching procedures. I will design my teaching procedures as follows:Step 1: Lead-inIn the lead-in part, I will present some pictures about my trip last weekend. Then I w
18、ill ask students to guess where I went to. The purpose of this step is that ss are interested in the guessing game and their desire to learn the new lesson can also be aroused.Step 2: Presentation Firstly, after pictures about my trip presented in the lead-in part, in this step, I will write the sen
19、tences on the blackboard. Secondly, students will be asked to observe these sentences, paid attention to the forms of verbs. Thirdly, I will give explanation the function and usage of the past tense. Especially point out the past tense of regular verbs and irregular verbs.By using the pictures to pr
20、esent the forms and function, students will get to understand them in a direct way.Step 3: Practice In order to practice what students have learnt, I will arrange three activities to practice. Activity 1: Students will be required to do exercises in the part 3a. Activity 2: Students will be divided
21、into groups and each group will be given a picture. And each of them will be required to make a short story, each member will make at least one sentence. The purpose of different activities can help students to improve their listening and speaking skills, and their cooperative ability can be enhance
22、d.Step 4: Consolidation After the practice, students will be required to complete a task. A reporter for your hometown. Creates a situation in which a programmm called “The Past and Present of My Hometown” is in need of a host; Any one who can quickly describe what the hometown was like will be the
23、host; examples will be given, for instance: My hometown was very small. It had few people.The task-based language teaching method is adopted in this step. Through completing the task, students comprehensive ability of language learning will be improved.Step 5: SummaryIn this step, students will be a
24、sked to summarize the language points they have learnt in this class, and the teacher will make supplement and emphasizes the usages of the past tense. Finally, tell students the importance of time and to develop love for their hometowns. By summarizing the content of the class, students can get a m
25、ain idea about the content of this class in the end, besides, the emotional objective will be achieved in this step.Step 6: HomeworkIn this step, I will ask students to making a timeline: Ss make a survey about their family members and find out what they were like every five years in the past. Tell
26、ss to bring them next class and present it.Give open homework to guide ss to use the language they learn in class.Part 6: Blackboard DesignAt last, Id like to say something about my blackboard design. As you can see, I have mainly written the teaching key points on the blackboard, which make it much easier for Ss to understand the key points of todays lesson.
